Since moving to Utah, I'm at the point where I am nearly as into MTB as moto. And this event and style of riding plays right into moto especially. I wished I could have drove down to see it; amazing stuff.

I've ridden in that area - the camera never does it justice; those drops are way, way steeper than you can see from the TV.

The 60ft gap jump has been there years. Thing it's a100ft drop if u get it wrong.

I was big into downhill a few years ago till I got the moto bug again.

That's NUTS!

I can't believe the drops and gaps they nail in that event. I'd love to hit it up one day.

Slightly off topic, but I can't believe the environmentalists allow that event to happen...is it on private property or something?

Pretty cool event. They robbed Andreu though so it left a bad taste.

I find Renner's recent interview on RacerX interesting, he refers with admiration to mountainbiking and where they've been pushing it recently - he even had a live interview on the Rampage show and said he wanted to bring some the influence in to freeride moto. Can't wait to see what he's got up his sleeve. With FMX on its last legs its high time for a freeride revolution.

These guys have to be the craziest dudes on the planet! That contest is unreal, especialy that massive canyon gap. I can't even imagine hitting something like that, major respect for all of those guys.

They've totally surpassed BMX in terms of innovation.

i've been a big Kyle Strait (Lyle) fan for a few years. one of my issues of BIKE magazine has a really cool feature about him, just made me an even bigger fan.

the guys that do the Rampage are seriously fucking' nuts. it's insane what they are doing on a 30lb mtn. bike

I gotta admit, I used to think MTB stuff was kinda low key and flaky, especially compared to moto...but I actually saw this video on a link on Twitter this morning drinking coffee. I almost spit my coffee up on the table watching how hard these guys hit, and the gaps they drop...!!! I mean...DAMN!! I have a new appreciation for how gnarly these guys are.

Holy shit that is friggen bad ass.... Cam is a local Reno rider that I have had the opportunity to meet a few times at Northstar! He is really cool and humble and takes the time to talk with everyone and even do runs with them showing us lowly novice riders the fast lines!

So cool to see local guys do good!
