First off... I promise more detailed/info pictures of the completed build are coming.. Just honestly haven't had the opportunity to get some quality pictures taken. So I guess the build isn't completely done (You're right as usual Tokyo_Tiddler haha)... Found one more thing to add.. Think Technology light seat foam with carbon fiber base and titanium seat brackets! This seat really is amazing... So light! I of course have heard about how light these seats are but never realized really what that would feel like. It's most noticeable when handling the stock/OEM seat and this seat at...

Back on page 8 I detailed my effort to make a replica HRC Map switch. Actually turned out pretty nice... but still wanted a real one. Finally got a real HRC Map switch with the help from Vintagehonda.nl HRC Map Switch I also awhile back got the latest HRC steering damper to replace the first generation HRC one I had before. This damper has multiple adjustment capability. I honestly don't know what the adjusters do besides the red dial. 🤷‍♂️ HRC Steering Damper

2016 HRC CRF450RW engine is back in one piece and ready for frame install. Just to recap... I completely disassembled the engine and replaced bearings and gaskets. Along with a new piston, rings, wrist pin. Inspected everything and cleaned her up! Then installed a new HRC hydraulic clutch slave cylinder and mounting bracket. EDIT: I forgot to include using a new OEM cylinder and OEM right center case. Unfortunately as I have said before, I won't be able to share any internal pictures of the engine. What I can do is tell you what parts are "works" and give...

So one of the challenges with this shock is finding/making the right upper shock mount bolt and nut suitable for the unusual design. Since the body design, near the upper shock mount area, is significantly larger than the OEM design. The OEM bolt and nut will not work. Basically the OEM design has the bolt with rectangular shaped head slide in from the right side of the shock. And then a traditional nut on the other side. This is not possible with this shock. The body doesn't provide enough clearance for the bolt. So the bolt has to...

As this build is coming to a close (at least the purchase of parts, still need to get the hydraulic clutch operational) it's fitting one of the last parts I've obtained is one of the first I came across. It just took a little over a year and half to get it! A Works SHOWA BFRC shock I honestly gave up hope in getting this shock awhile ago. So in the meantime I was lucky in finding the "traditional" Works SHOWA shock. A beautiful piece in itself! But this Showa BFRC is just another level of awesomeness! Plus it's...

Mounted up my Febur radiators. Fitment was perfect to the frame and with the radiator shrouds bolt holes (not always the case with aftermarket stuff, as many of you know). Having the crossover tube routed under the header gives the bike such a clean look! Really don't understand why the stock routing is over the header??? The only issue I ran into was the Febur radiator tubing was a slightly larger diameter than OEM. This made sliding on the OEM spec CV4 hoses a challenge. But in the end it worked out... I will keep my fingers crossed that I...

In Spain we have a company that makes custom silicone pipes for old cars, you give them the specifications and they manufacture it for you.

95% done with my HRC replica map mode switch. After about 10 attempts I got the guard portion of the switch done to my satisfaction. In order to replicate the 1 and 2 white numbering on the switch I used a label maker. I still need to refine the placement and shape of the labels (really hard to cut to size!). But overall I'm really happy with how it turned out. The switch at the moment is just for looks. It's not hooked up to anything but fully capable to be used in the future once I find the appropriate...

From God knows when through 2016, Honda HRC used a steel shift lever with a "Parkerized" finish on the CR/CRF's. What is a Parkerized finish? From Wikipedia: "Parkerizing is a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of a chemical phosphate conversion coating" The HRC steel lever is actually considerably heavier than the OEM lever. But a lot stronger! From 2017 through the present, HRC switched to a CNC machined titanium shift lever. HRC Steel and Titanium shift levers If you look closely to the second picture above...

hello, how brave in trying to build data acquisition. I see that you know a lot about computers and motorcycles, I am the owner of a crf 450 rx 2018, I would like to adjust the ecu, I have seen that you have made your own harness, I have also seen one on the internet for 28 pounds, which can...

So I know I have not posted in a while but I have been picking away in my free time. Made lots of progress with the data logger and got connected to my ECU with the HRC software. Pretty pumped about this because connecting to the ECU was a bit of a struggle. I found an article on thumpertalk that showed how to do it with a $10 obd2 scan cable so I saved a ton of cash by not having to buy the HRC cable. I got my throttle position, coolant temp, and intake temp sensors mapped in the...

I have been searching for a HRC Map Mode Switch for my bike, with no luck thus far. And all I could do is hope one would find it's way to me. HRC Map Switch (Tim Gajser 2016) That is until I saw this picture, of the HRC switch, posted on Instagram and it got me thinking... ... The switch looks like some sort of modified standard Honda motorcycle switch. With a guard mounted on the top (the guard is partially broken off on the side). Honda is a very efficient and "logical" company. If a part works...

Success! After a lot of patience and careful work with the thread file (1.5 thread pitch) I successfully repaired the threads. The affected threads dont look perfect but were suitable enough to thread on the new works preload collar. I carefully worked the collar over the damaged area using lots of anti-seize compound. It did require a little effort to screw on but once I went over the area a couple of times (cleaning the threads each time) the collar screwed on freely. Another first for me was disassembling the shock. The process was actually easy but nerve racking...
