2/20/2025 2:10pm Don't see too many Swiss or French posters on vital, pretty cool man! What's your local track out there?

2/20/2025 2:10pm Thanks. I have so much respect for the craftsmanship. It must be very satisfying seeing your actual work at the end of the day. I used a TIG welder. For the footpeg holder repair I needed something more precise. I am sure though that it can be done with the MIG welder.

2/20/2025 2:06pm Cool build man, excited to see the progress. I assume a gas shielded mig welder? Nice looking welds for a "first timer"!

2/19/2025 2:39am The knuckle internals are in much worse shape than the link arm's. They are rusty and crusty. I don't think I'm blasting these, I want them smooth as possible. Getting a 2nd opinion on that tomorrow. For the corrosion and grime built up, I had a two step method. Grip Clean wipe, then scotch brite scrubbed, then wiped clean again before ever reaching the blast cabinet. Ready for blast: Swingarm bolt looking straight nasty. All linkage and swingarm hardware prior to blast: After blast:

2/18/2025 11:34am One thing I wanted to learn ever since doing bike maintenance on my own is welding. The frame and subframe need some attention. The welds are not pretty but they last. the bottom holes of the footpeg holder were worn out. I ordered some stainless steel bungs (?) and welded them on. One of the subframe rails had very strong...

2/18/2025 10:34am I live right next to France. Which is good because they have good tracks and the fees are low. There are 2 tracks within 20-30 minutes of driving. Bartenheim and Rixheim. And they are nice. Good flow and lots of fun. The former GP track villars sous ecout is less than 50 miles away. Buti am not sure if you...

2/17/2025 10:51am Just one bit of info. Maybe you know already, and I am not sure if it is that important. The case halves are surface matched. Meaning you don’t need a gasket. I thought you should only buy it in pairs. But I guess you can get the surface cleaned up

Jabe Started a new thread 95 Honda CR125 rebuild from dire neglect
2/17/2025 6:55am Due to a mix of boredom from my office job and a surge of nostalgia (and reading too many build threads on vital) I decided I wanted to do a rebuild project as well. I saw some showa 47 on the German small prints paired with idolizing the Hondas of the mid nineties (I was a kid but still McGrath...

2/17/2025 6:42am Another surprise was the swingarm. I hope it is visible on the photos. Needless to say I needed a replacement. I got lucky on eBay and found one in very good shape for 120USD.

2/16/2025 12:19am I understand what you are saying, but they should have thrown the red either earlier or let the race be over. After being down two laps, seven seconds didn’t matter. He should have been carried off on a backboard in my opinion. He could barely walk and they really didn’t know what injuries he may have had to his spine. Think back to another rider they put on the Mule and he ended up not walking again.

2/16/2025 12:15am So youre an employee, a top performer in your group, and your boss comes up to you and says, " i hear you dont want to succeed." This despite your obvious performance and current success. But he doesnt say this to your face, but instead on a phone call, while you are the one actually at work. Bobby took a comment from max out of context, ignored the actual results from his performance, then tried to question his motivation. Max wanted to send a message and he damn sure did it. On the track and off.

2/14/2025 12:20am I'm sure this is going to get downvoted to hell, but fuck it. Motocross is filled with very incompetent people. The agents, media members, former racers now running industry companies, lower rung race teams...it's extremely bush league. The industry is very lucky that their fan group is so dedicated to the sport because the fans suffer through a lot. The broadcast and RDL has improved greatly, but we suffered for a long time there. Press conferences are unbearable. The podcasts are hard to listen to at times. The YouTube channels are out of control. The normal practice from teams and...

I was gonna say your post was retarded but I thought I’d be nice if your sensitive but you don’t seem to be so I’ll say it’s not only not funny it’s also retarded to say that. As I said, I’m an Eli fan but you gotta be in it to win it and the best will win in the end.
