I’m not sure if it was mentioned in the race thread, but the crowd reaction for Malcolm’s podium should remind everyone things aren’t as bad as the news wants you to believe. It seems like every story tries to divide us nowadays but we had a French guy/Japanese kid/African-American racing in a predominantly white sport in UTAH and the crowd and industry couldn’t have been happier for each one of them. Next time you want to keep up with the “hillbilly Neanderthal” sport nonsense, remember SLC.

So far, the announcing is phenomenal. I think keep this combo in the booth long term. They got a good symbiotic relationship going on. Feeding off eachother. Two racers who know what they’re watching and calling it well. This is great!!!!

I know it is not technically a spoken wallet thread. But, I am back to my roots on Team Green. Sadly, we are getting a monsoon tomorrow and will not be able to test ride it until Wednesday...Idled around the yard for some break in today...Needless to say I am pretty damn pumped. Don't worry two stroke diehards, I still have a smoker for off-road duties.

Well, the wallet finally spoke. I always told myself I would not push him into riding. But after a year of asking me for a bike I figured it was time. I put him on a strider at two, bicycle and Stacyc at 3, and now a PW at 5. For all those future dads this worked well for me. Not one time did we use training wheels. I paid a little too much for it but I don’t care one bit. His reaction, and first ride, made every penny worth it.

My Son, not quite 14, has outgrown his 85 before he even really learned how to ride it. No way I'd put him on a 250F, but new 125's are scare if not impossible to find right now, and the used market is littered with 10 year old, $4,000 project bikes. Yes, we could buy a roached $4,000 2008 YZ125 and make it "as good or better" than a new bike for about the same cost, but it would still be a 13 year old bike. I hope the OEM's are noticing their missed opportunity.
