Cairoli showed recently what's possible even into your 40s if you were an all timer and never truly stopped riding. Give him an off-season and RC still scores points outdoors in his mid-late 40s. He actually made it through his career relatively injury free, so he's probably less beat up than a lot of the guys in their late 30s I'm not sure they class as old, but almost all the outdoor champs post-2009 could easily make the motos still imo, especially if they actually took a few weeks to train ahead of trying I would guess any former elite...

Well, yes. They’ve learned how to ride like Americans and bring the same intensity. They ride outdoors year round on shit tracks, we don’t. They run a softer bikes than our guys and it works much better outside. Our guys except Jett and Hunter run stiff suspension outdoors.

Well he isnt wrong. All I can see from AMA riders practice on smooth groomed tracks. MXGP riders wait until track get rough before they practice.

Yes Deegan 37th to 4th is impressive, but hardly a mention of RJ 40th to 7th, or Prado also crashing on the first lap and back to 4th in the second moto.

He's cutting through the field that fast because he's way faster than most the field So is Prado, but Deegan is still a better passer. You can tell Deegan had mediocre starts his whole 250 career (except for this year in SX) while Prado was mostly holeshotting with how they pass and go around people.

Got any quotes? If you were hearing them all week, who said what? I'm on the record that I don't care for 38's schtick, the mouthing off and past antics on the track. I don't mind watching him lose after all that. But putting aside the noise - from him and from the back and forth here - and just watching what's going on during motos, he's undeniably racing his ass off and but for the two Lawrences is by far the fastest other guy on the track outdoors. If anyone wants to see someone else mixing it up with...

He actually got beat possibly his worst all year and this was at the track everyone said was his best shot at a moto win. 1st moto the leaders had a 40 second gap on 3rd and when deegs got into 4th the gap widened even more over 15 more seconds over the last half of the race. Then moto 2 they had a big gap on deegs, jett goes down, then gathers himself for a couple laps, then puts a 15 second gap on deegs in 2 laps and catches hunter. Absolutely crazy the pace of those 2.

Another round same results. All week the talk was the Lawrence’s will struggle and Deegan will win. Never seen so much hype for the 3rd placed guy.

First off, despite the number of journalism schools willing to take people’s hard earned money, journalism as we boomers used to understand it, has long been dead, killed by consolidation and monopolization by a few mega corporations. The internet once held promise for the supposed “democratization” of the media, but the corporations got that on lock too. As for our absolutely tiny sport, the “media” has always played a lapdog role to the companies that make the races happen. Anger any of these companies and your access to events and athletes will be denied. Who’s reporting on the purse payout...

It's moto "journalism". It's a small sport full of guys reporting on it who barely graduated high school. Staying on the good side of the bro show is far more important than doing their jobs with integrity.

First off, there’s a difference between a “Journalist” and a “Content Creator”. Very few journalists and too many content creators.

Moto journalism is absolute garbage. The side effect is now anyone with a wifi connection and an iPhone thinks they can slot right into the journalism sphere of influence. so you get all the youtube slop we have now. Feld controls the whole thing now anyway.

Is anyone else over moto journalists going on about all the intel they have but can't share publicly? So many of them on their podcasts are like: "That rider gave me some great insights, but I'll tell you after the show." "Someone deep, deep, deep at Yamaha told me something super interesting but I can't share it." "People are saying X about Chase Sexton, but if they only knew what I know..." "I'm in a group chat with these riders and they told me some things that would really surprise your average fan." "There's more to that story but I'll...

Riding technique, Deegan revs the bike more and uses the clutch to modulate the power. The Lawrence's ride more like Kenny, lower rpm's, less clutch, and throttle control to modulate the power. One is much easier to maintain traction vs the other.

Deegan’s Star Racing Yamaha 250 had a bigger performance advantage over the rest of the 250 field than the factory Honda 450 has over Haiden’s 450
