11/5/2025 5:04pm LOL - i gave up on my 23 (450) It's a garage queen for the most part - bought YZ250f and have way more fun racing it (getting old sux) My 23 450 isn’t a bike than i can handle over the course of a season. Paying money to slow bikes down - it's the new VET thing lol.

11/2/2025 4:17pm there are two ways to see if you are running lean or rich after you make vortex adjustments, or after you first install a new box: The first is to ride the bike, and try all throttle settings from just cracking it open to WFO. if you hear detonation and mis firing when you are wide open, that is normally an indicator of a too lean condition. If the bike is rich it will feel sluggish and boggy like you have a really dirty air filter. The second way to see if you are too rich or lean is to...

OldTech Liked a reply to forum topic What are little things you do to dial in your bike?
10/24/2025 6:27am I'll try. High speed compression is not jumping, landing or even a g-out. It effects square edge holes, acceleration bumps or even wheelieing over a tree. If the bike deflects to the side or steps out, try opening it up a little. Always know where you started.

10/22/2025 9:09pm high speed compression adjuster is the single biggest thing I use to find that sweet spot. Most guys are afraid of it and wont touch it. Its everything to me personally

10/17/2025 6:30pm I understand, I got a Beta 450RX. (1st year model, small production run, and a new segment for the boutique Italian company) I wouldn't have rolled the dice on it if I didn't personally know atleast a dozen people having excellent experiences with their Betas. I think Beta has their 2 strokes dialed. The 450 had a couple small issues that were easily fixed and has been a great bike. (~50 hours and counting). Having recently owned both a KX450 and YZ450, I'd say the quality is better than the KX but a tick off the mark of the YZ...

mxaniac Liked a reply to forum topic C12 50/50 vs avgas question
10/17/2025 2:42pm I threw the pure C12 out there in case you've ever tried it. Looking at a standard orifice equation, you'll get about 2.4% more flow with AVGAS than just pump gas, so about 1.2% compared to your 50/50 mix. 1% is roughly the same as a 20 degree F temperature change or going from sea level to about 1600 feet elevation.

10/17/2025 2:41pm C12 has a MON rating of 108. A 93 octane pump gas with 10% ethanol is around 88 MON. (88+108)/2 = 98 octane as your current baseline. AVGAS octane is about 103 on the MON scale, so you are covered detonation wise. That is independent of jetting though. For jetting, I think density would be the most obvious thing to compare. AVGAS is about the same as C12, jetting wise if the bike runs ok on pure C12 it should be fine on AVGAS.

EAmato88 Liked a reply to forum topic Options for Locking Bikes in Garage
10/14/2025 5:04am In the channels for your garage door rollers, there should be holes/cut outs. I put masterlocks in those holes, it lets the door open a couple inches before it engages the roller and stops the door. The couple inches that the door moves trips the sensor for the alarm, lights off the loudest siren i could get. I highly doubt any thieve is sticking around for that kind of noise in the middle of the night, but im hopeful. i have something that will leave a lasting impression when i get the opportunity some day

10/8/2025 4:37am This was a bit interesting, because you saw a lot of Dunlop tires in the top 10. And if Pirelli riders are switching for this one off race, it makes you think about tires. Something we probably do not enough in our sport.

A lot of crossover information between the two series. Oh and, of course, thank you. It means a lot. I love this race more than anything in the world, haha. More to come!

10/4/2025 5:48pm Soooo Stoked for Japan! Heart-broken for Canada & Ukraine. Proud to feel like “those are my guys” on the Aussie team. Team USA playing it close to the chest and conservative? Not surprised. I’m guessing they’re gonna come outta the gate like Seal Team 6 tomorrow. No worries. If we simply have 3 awesome races and we don’t see ANYONE on the ground? Well… I’ll take it! Good luck to all and a shout out to Lars and the gang for an epic day.

10/4/2025 5:46pm I’ve been using Oakley O’frames for over 15 years now and looking to try something new. The issue I have is every other goggle I try on pinches my nose to the point of making it uncomfortable and harder to breathe. Has anyone had the same issue and could recommend other brands/models with a similar fit?
