Like most of the posts above, KEEP the 125 and learn to ride it so fast and hard until the wheels fall off. If you can rip a 125 around balls-out, you'll jump on a 250f and feel like a super hero. But being a super-hero on a 125 sure sounds and feels much, much more satisfying. Technique, skill, and the endurance you acquire getting fast on a 2t is so beneficial to becoming a well-rounded rider. Not too mention, just the feeling of rev'ing a 125 to the moon and passing 4t's in the process, is one of the...

I would have given my left nut to have had the chance to ride the track as it was presented. Motocross wet dream right there.

I think my brother-in-law Jeff Russell made the decision, based on all of the rain and the fact that people really wanted to ride it while it was all covered in grass. Had they disked it up before the rain on Friday and Saturday morning it would have been a muddy mess. Instead, with the track sealed, the rain mostly ran off, and with the wind blowing all day, it dried out and tacked up well. DC Racer X

I personally thought it turned out awesome. I was running sweep laps on the woods loop and it also got really good after everyone started turning laps. When I checked the course first thing in the morning, it was slick but the conditions on my final sweep lap to close the course were epic. Also popped over and rode a lap on the Moto track later in the day. It was really good! We typically don’t plant grass on the track, but I imagine this will become a yearly tradition.

I would have loved to be there but other obligations stood in the way... I've been going to HP since the mid 80s and have raced HS/GNCC there since 1994, it looked awesome! DC showed photos online of the grass covering the track and the comments were overwhelming in favor of riding the grass... I applaud them for giving the...

The penalty was the right move. Own up to your mistake kid. I like most riders....but something about this kid just rubs me the wrong way.

I can see a scenario in a few years: Guy runs in 3rd, runs off the side of the track and crashes. He picks his bike up and instead of immediately going back on the track where he ran off, he just looks to the next section of the track and goes there to "safely" slot himself back in 3rd place. "Well, I didn't even gain any time"

You're spot on. The aim has to be that the penalty for doing shit like that is so harsh that riders wont even think about it. That is clearly not the case at the moment.

I’m leaning your way. It’s blatant cheating. Intent. DQ would get everyone’s attention, and put an end to it. It’s like robbery, “OK, give the stuff back, now go home and behave”. I think not.

DQ.... every rider on the track knows the rules and the consequences for their actions. I don't care who the rider is, if you don't lay down the law and make the penalty stiff, the riders will keep taking advantage. In the interview afterward, AF was like oh well, no big deal....

I only use No Toil and pour it on. I do see a lot of the younger guys using spray, tired it and did not feel it was enough protection....

As the OP, I just listened to the Lamson episode yesterday while working with my earbuds in... It was the best, guest & host(s) interaction, in the history of the show! Kudo's to Ping & GL for getting this cleaned up... Hope it sticks!
