Anyone who complains about riding a grass covered pro motocross track should probably find a new hobby. Heres some GoPro of how the track shaped up. Ignore my goon riding but you can see how awesome the track was.

Nice story for DC.

Back in 1994 we were at a vintage motocross national in Ocala Fla.
It rained solid days prior to the race and on race day the track was trashed.

While the race promoters (AHRMA) were rotating on their thumbs along with the track owner I saw this guy hop onto a dozer and head out on the track.

Riders from all over the country were blasting AHRMA about canceling the race this guy was out there dozing the track.

When he was done and looking over the track I walked over to him to give thanks for saving the race day doing what he did. then I realized it was Big Dave Combs....he said my pleasure and walked off..the AHRMA people still bickering on what to do.

Needless to say without his help the race would have been cancelled.

Big Dave truly was a racers best friend.

I remember when did that! He once did something similar at Loretta Lynn's 1985 when a hurricane knocked out the third set of motos. He tried building a track on the infield and they raced one moto--his Senior class--before it became hopeless. But he got fourth and was thrilled--he was always a good mudder.

Thanks for sharing the story and the patch for my dad.

Man, it tacked up nicer than I thought, and lots of lines and berms by the end. I had left around 2 and it was getting good. Thanks for posting!
