I'd say it's easily repairable, if that's the extent of the damage. That's the lower pocket for the cam chain guide, as far as I know. THOROUGH cleaning, a Good welder = a relatively easy repair. A weld to the inside of the 'pocket', would, I think, necessitate it then be ground back, so the cam chain guide sits Absolutely Correctly and Nothing hits the weld bead. . No Ifs or Buts. Perhaps - well, probably, a bead behind the pocket, provided it would Not interfere with Anything, nor block any oil movement at that point in the cases. So...

You know the answer…..run it! A little lean this way….a little rich the other way….sounds like you are right in the middle. Run it and report back
