Anyone know the story on the guy from Uganda? I looked him up and found videos of him racing the Ugandan Nationals, but that woukd be incredible if he was able to develope that speed racing such a minor series. Racer X needs to do a Privateer Profile on him.

It’s been a stressful day. I had a 5:25am flight from Tampa connecting through Atlanta and onto Portland. Should’ve landed in Portland at 10:45am. So I was up at 3:30am eastern time and got to my gate to find out what happened with everything. Delta couldn’t get me to Portland until 9:30am Saturday morning (which obviously doesn’t work for me) and that was to go to LAX tonight and spend the night there and then Portland Saturday morning. I told them no. So I booked a separate southwest flight at 2:00pm from Tampa connecting through Denver and getting to Portland...

I raced PIR a few years ago when I drove up, fun track! A bit tight but the dirt is good! Finished 5th in my class but still got a numberplate trophy (they were giving them to the top 5).

To echo this advice, even leaving the race at the beginning of the last moto, you may get out of the track what seems fast (running with the rest of the people with the same plan), but the accordion will happen as you get closer to town, it will still be at least an hour and a half to get to the freeway. It is the one drawback to Washougal, you will be sitting in horrid traffic getting to the track, and leaving. Get to the track by 7AM, you will still have some traffic, but not nearly as bad...

For first-timers, if you are not staying at the track Friday night, plan to be going through town by 0600. That's if you want to watch practice and get a decent spot to set up. Last couple years the backup into the track was 2-3 hours due to limited access and sheer volume. It's possible the heat (94-96f?) will affect the turnout this year, but not much. If you ride a street bike in you can get around a lot of the stuck traffic. Getting out is similar - I just hang out in the shade for 2 hours after...

I laughed hard when he said he “was rooted”. It was a common profanity in Australia decades ago, but slowly bit by bit American terms have taken over here and “fucked” is more dominant now. Good to hear Hunter hasn’t forgotten his roots 😂
