Yeah, you can see that coolant flange is on the front of the cylinder head on the Triumph but comes out the side of the cylinder head on the KTM. Certainly no secret where they pulled some inspiration from, though! Glad we finally have a release date to see the whole thing.

8/15/2023 11:00am It's just a lame move to talk about "starting from scratch" and doing all this "ground up" engineering and then they finally show something and its nearly identical to an existing engine. It would be fine if they were just up front about using an existing engine so they can focus on the chassis or at least provide some explanation.

So on the Vital Facebook page it said there is key differences between the Triumph motor and the KTM. What are the key differences between them?

Another disappointing video, showed some random parts and the same 4 inch square section of the motor 10 times. I gathered that it had really broad usable power they mentioned over and over. It appears to have a long oil screen like the KTM motors do.

8/14/2023 1:11pm It looks so similar I have to think they worked with ktm. Kind of hard to tell in the youtube image but it even looks like it uses the same torx hardware. Layout is exactly the same. Hopefully we find out soon

Beat me to it I almost posted this exact image as a comparison. Weird if they have a problem with the thumbnail image being posted here since its literally on the front page of the youtube video on their channel. That being said there is only so many ways to skin a cat and it certainly has the same layout which is pretty close to all the other 250s as well. But I highly doubt it shares anything part wise with the KTMs. The best thing to take away from this is that they didnt try any weird stuff.
