connorwatts Started a new thread KX 65 quit running
6/11/2025 8:37pm Hey guys, my sons kx65 died in the middle of a couple hour long ride and wouldn’t start until it cooled off. I was able to figure out that the cdi was failing when it was hot. I replaced the cdi, igniter, plug and cap with factory new Kawasaki parts. The cdi was the only part that was not oem...

Anyway, I am a big advocate of chest protectors, but here there is not too much needed with the new Alpinestars already included. jk, good luck I forgot to say, on behalf of everybody, I HATE YOU !

5/31/2025 8:12am LOFreakingL!!! OP- Not familiar with the Leatt, but do have experience with the Fox R3 chest pro. Worked well for my wife and daughter, but I am a bit skeptical of how it may fit your wife. Best thing would be taking her to try on any that you can possibly find to see what fits best. May require ordering and returning a few, unfortunately.

5/30/2025 1:13pm Fox made a women's specific chest protector a while back that had a curved chest area to accomodate women. Just looked on eBay and saw this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/365625555539

5/30/2025 12:30pm Pretty sure I will have ordered these by the end of the weekend. I am about 5'10" and find the rider triangle a little cramped but I came from Yamahas and still ride a 125 fairly often. That said, in some respects I don't want to lower the pegs because it forces me into a more aggressive rider position. One the other hand I need sharper pegs than the stock oddities that came OEM so this seems like a logical solution for less than $150. The last set of Ti bearclaw pegs I had were $300. https://www.motoes.net/product-page/foot-pegs-stainless-tbi-ktm-husky-g…

5/30/2025 9:59am Hey guys, thanks for the input. I appreciate it already managed to hurt myself, but I’m already riding again. Does anybody have suggestions for some lower foot pegs and if so, how much lower should I go with the fact that I’m 6 foot two?

5/30/2025 9:55am Now that's an amazing first bike. Keep it in the white map, green map light could be hazardous to your health. It's a good idea to learn about maintaining dirt bikes properly. Super easy for the simplest things to cause costly damage. Be aware that KTM has no parts availability these days. I had to get a used power valve motor and new cylinder/piston kit off of ebay. 300's have a seizing issue with poor cooling around the exhaust port power valve. There's a fix, but I was waiting to do it with the first piston replacement(top end job). D'oh...

5/23/2025 4:44pm Motocross action has really good setup guides for the WP forks. Start with the “travel rings” on the forks all of the way up. Run it at your PSI and see where the rings are. Somewhere around 1 1/2 inches from the lower leg will get you close to your “spring rate” and if not, adjust accordingly. Adjust for feel with the clickers. You’re pretty much a clone of me, size wise, and this method has worked well for me
