Because they still go off of the old thought process of "where the pros go the rest will follow." Everyone thinks the instabangers of the fast guys throwing it sideways over some big jumps and wide open around big bowl turns will catch the eye of everyone else. IMO, we seem to be in this weird spot where a lot of main tracks are too much in the way of big booters and being super fast while the vet tracks are too tame a lot of the time. I've had very little desire the last few years to really ride...

Hating “lappers” is elitist bullshit. The guy finishing 39th would still wax a large portion of the riding population. We need privateers, it is what makes our sport core. Good post OP. Keep it real.

I saw that there was some discussion about lapper’s at Unadilla today. I have absolutely no problem with 40 of the best riders in the US lining up and racing against each other. These guys have sponsors and are just trying to make some money at racing motocross. These guys are the backbone of this sport. If we had the same system that the MXGP has with all the different classes like the EMX 125 and 250 championships then it might be a different story. I really do like watching the European championships along with the MXGP‘s and I wish...

Hey all, sorry in advance for the longer post, I will make it as short as I can. I am new member but long time lurker. Years ago my father took me and my brother all over the Northwest (Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah) for a month long road trip hitting different spots to ride. It happens all the time in professional sports but it’s mind boggling every time. This guy here goes neck and neck down to the final races of the season almost beating Sexton for a 250SX title, only losing by 9 points. Then look at the 450 trajectory difference of the two.

Started racing Pro in 2010. Best finish was a 4th at Indy in 2013. Last Pro race was Nashville 2023. He had plenty of time to train and become a champion, but never did. Doubt his bike was the reason for all of his finishes outside of the top 10 throughout his career.... Idk man, I don't necessarily believe that. You either have it in you or you don't.
