I saw that there was some discussion about lapper’s at Unadilla today. I have absolutely no problem with 40 of the best riders in the US lining up and racing against each other. These guys have sponsors and are just trying to make some money at racing motocross. These guys are the backbone of this sport.
If we had the same system that the MXGP has with all the different classes like the EMX 125 and 250 championships then it might be a different story. I really do like watching the European championships along with the MXGP‘s and I wish we had something like that in the US, but as of right now we don’t, so this is the best that these guys can do to make some money. I love both championships and I’m glad that we live in an age where we can enjoy watching both.

Hating “lappers” is elitist bullshit. The guy finishing 39th would still wax a large portion of the riding population. We need privateers, it is what makes our sport core.
Good post OP. Keep it real.
Anybody who's lapped should be banned from future races...
If i ever go toa national and there's less than40 guyson the gate I'm going to be an iangryas this stupidwebsite make me trying to type out a reply.
For real can we just fix this shit or go back to previous version or something?
You could end up with a ten man gate or less if that was the case!

Ok, I don’t post here much but it’s actually pretty entertaining reading the posts from you guys with android phones I assume?
Sorry to derail this thread. It must be frustrating but it’s entertaining to try and read!
After Ricky lapping everybody at Millville in 2006, he would have finished the season with the track to himself.
The should make it like F1, if you are not within 107%, you dont race.
That way we can have close tight racing with 4 or 5 riders at each event.
It would severely hurt the sport here in the US if they did that.
No one hates lappers, and yes we know they would all smoke everyone on the board… but, maybe if they were held to a standard in how they respond to the Blue flags might be nice!
Agree with comments regarding respect to blue flags. Folks have to actually notice them and move out of the main line. It’s a bummer when a good battle is thwarted by a dude in 39th place who is sitting down barely riding at 70% of his own best pace.
Lappers only notice blue flags if they are shown, the few blue flags that were waved, were waved too late, not giving lappers enough time to get out of the way.
If you "love ruts" but hate lappers...you probably need to rethink things.
Put your sarcasm glasses on.
Yeah if MX was raced on pavement without ever changing surfaces….this is just dumb…
It's a setting on your phone.
250 had 86 racers entered. 42 qualified
450 had 89 racers entered. 42 qualified.
Think you can do better than the 50% that qualified and not be a lapper?
Tracks are only so wide and when racers are battling for position they want them to pull over and stop racing while the one they were battling with pulls away?
Vaille 16 was lapped so he should stop racing trying to get back into a points paying position?
If youguys arefrustrated byrappers nwo, tellthen they haveto changelines andgetout of the way and your head aregoing toexplode.
Not goingto fixthis shitanymore. Youknow whatI'm tryingto say!!!
Pit Row
Yeah thatain't the issue....
Its because DRS wasn’t enabled for them.
if you want to watch a close 4-5 guy battle go to your local weekend race and watch the dash for cash.
WTF are you even saying? You type like the vitards say Will C talks. You reallyhsvetobesmarterthsn yourphone
What the fuck is going on, i hate this texting/ spelling issue lately, it makes others diagree with my point of veiw, and I get lots of down votes.
Site changed, ididn't, onlyplace ihave thisissue andI'm notthe onlyone. Havehad Samsungphones forover adecade andnever hadthisissue.
I know it can be tough to adapt. I had the same problem with Fuel Injection, but like I said, I finally figured out how to be smarter than the device. Samsung is not out to get you no matter you’ve been told and neither is Vital. You’ll get it, just be patient and experiment with settings or something maybe(?). I don’t know, I’m just busting your balls for all I know you have sausage fingers and your doing your best, but if you think it’s frustrating think how your audience feels
My onlygoal atthis pointis toannoysomeone enough that they ask their cracker jack computers nerd to actually fix the issue.
Try this...
Huh? That’s weak! Do you at least have a kid or a wife that can help you? Be more self reliant - I would always at least unbolt the head and take it off - you can always put it back together. Jeez try google or ChatGPT - it really can’t be that hard. NFM
You win.
To turn off autocorrect on a Samsung phone, follow these steps:
1. **Open the Settings app** on your Samsung phone.
2. Scroll down and tap on **General Management**.
3. Tap on **Samsung Keyboard settings** or just **Keyboard settings**, depending on your phone model.
4. Look for the option labeled **Smart typing** or **Auto spell check**.
5. Toggle off **Predictive text**, **Auto replace**, or **Auto spell check** to disable autocorrect.
These steps may vary slightly depending on your phone's model and Android version.
The problem is that half of the riders don’t act like they are top 40 in the country.
IF you are a national caliber rider you should be able to get out of the way when you are getting lapped. Your own race for position 35th ywith 3 other riders that are 10-15 seconds off the pace are NOT as important as the race leaders battle.
Lappers should not be a obsticale for the leaders to deal with, they should just move over and leave a clear track.
And as the standard on half of the riders is now, 40 riders on the gate is not a good thing to brag about.
I hate to see a race get ruined because of some lapper that can’t turn his head around and see that the leaders are comming.
But as someone said, it’s just a national championship.
Have you tried putting it in a bowl of rice?
