Johnnydirt Liked a forum topic KTM updated 250/350 oil pump gear

Looks like KTM has updated the oil pump gear to a metal one for the 2023 bikes and the part number supersedes the old #79238006100. New gear #79238006300. $17 from Motosport I’ll order one up and report back

@joe846 has good advice. I have an '18 TX. The Jarvis mods combined with a JD Jetting kit runs very well. If the bike has been sitting also order a new float needle valve and seat assembly. It is prone to leaking over time. Especially with ethanolated fuel. I run the manual recommended 60:1 oil ratio using Motul 710 or...

Back in action with a YZ250X for enduros this year. Still have the YZ450F too. Rode it with a Hitlis for the first time today and whoa boy! Makes a big difference for the better. Knew the X’s were lower comp, but didn’t realize they are set up for mostly top end and have so little torque down low. Hitlis helped more than expected across the whole range.

All those are good choices. Just be aware the KTM 890 has cam wear issues. If buying used get the one with the best setup installed. Lots of older guys with lots of coin build these types of bikes up with all the goodies. Usually you can get a bike all setup with luggage, skid plate, performance mods for a...

I really liked my this combo: - YZ stock compression with squish corrected - YZ250X ECU - YZ250X powervalve spring - Flywheel weight. It had good torque and was smooth. I also found the Rekluse Torq Drive manual clutch pack was a great upgrade for technical riding. The clutch pull was reduced and the clutch was easier to modulate with...
After over 2 years, I finally finished my project. Started as a basket case '94 KX250, bike was literally built from a bare frame up. If the part is not new, it has been reconditioned to like-new condition (except fork seals). Engine just barely broken in, 3-4 heat cycles, only ridden around my block. Bike has '09-up plastic, subframe, airbox, seat etc. Below is a list of what's been done- ENGINE - engine cases, head and covers vapor blasted - clutch and stator cover Cerakoted bronze - stock crank with new ProX rod - cylinder sleeved with new wiseco piston...

This is the fastest and easiest KYB conversion kit for your 2021+ KTM, GasGas or Husqvarna 48mm forks. Since no modifications are made to the lugs or fork legs, you can easily return the fork to the stock setup when you sell your bike. For technical information or to purchase a kit: https://dialedmfg.com/ Questions? sales@dialedmfg.com I'm editing this Sept 26, 2024 to include that the AER-48 conversion kits for the older 2016 - 2020 WP forks on KTM and Husqvarna models are now available at the same price. A link is included below and I'll add a post to this...

It depends on your type of offroad. Personally the trails I ride and race on are typical PNW and Interior BC slow speed tech. Suspension that works well in the bush ends up being way to soft for moto. I would need 2 sets of suspension to make it work.

Pretty basic setup for me. This is what I run for West coast sprint enduros. 2006 RM250 stock engine 1. RG3 moto suspension (usually soften it up about 4-7 clicks from moto depending on conditions) 2. Handguards 3. Skid Plate 4. 18" Rear Wheel 5. Hinson basket with KG clutch kit 6. Pro Circuit pipe and spark arrestor 7. O Ring chain with +2 teeth on the rear 8. TM chain guide

I just did 95% of the NVBDR, I was on my BMW F800GS, buddy was on T700. He rode circles around me off-road. The BMW has VERY LITTLE adjustability in the suspension, so you have to ride it like they sent it to you. It is a great bike, but I like to race, and you can get the BMW “bottoming out” the front end that is simply not on par. We were checking our “dust ring” when stopping, and I was dust free to the bottom of my inner fork tube, his was never wiped clean more than 50%...

I ride and race a 250sx. Built both sets of wheels. Showa damper behind the #plate on the practice bike Scott’s on the other. Coil conversions and some “shim shuffling” on both. Lower compression heads. Dry break on the racer, oem xc tank on the hour bucket. Love these bikes, so simple and potent, another year or two in 250A then I’ll probably go four stroke and race a age group class.

M59 on the front. I have yet to find anything that gets close. The Goldentyre 216AA Fatty is also a very good tire but I thing the M59 handles better overall. On the rear any of the new gen stiffer carcass gummies are good. Right now I have a Shinko 525 Cheater and IRC VE33 gummy installed. On the shelf...

I have nothing but poor luck with ADV helmets. Now I use my MX helmet with ear plugs for close to home/lots of single track and my street helmet for everything else. Too many compromises with an ADV helmet IMO. Noise/dust/comfort/aerodynamics etc. They do look good though.
