So I am drinking a beer and staring at this beautiful hand-built bike from Italy. I can't believe I splurged. My buddy bought a 2023 and I spent some time on it at Rio Bravo and it is really good. I have a collection of 2005 Suzukis that are pretty modded and fast and hard to ride. I decided I wanted a 2 stroke with a go button that is easier to ride.Us old guys are lazy. OK, here's the deal. "10W-40" is a multi-viscosity oil that acts like a 10W at startup but acts like a 40W at operating temperature. Assuming you don't ride in -30 degree conditions, the first number is basically irrelevant. Choose your viscosity based on the second number. Now, in layman's terms, 40 is "thicker" than 30. (It resists flow to a higher degree.) This is also often correlated with (not caused by) a higher film strength and more lubricity. In other words, it's more oily. 3/22/2023 4:57pm You have the P and T relationship correct; but the ideal gas law is actually PV=nRT. I think it's safe to say the factory mechanics are checking tire pressure before the bike hits the track. That said, I have no idea what temp the tire warmers run at.
