lotta work him and his family put in over the years. pretty cool i'd say to see em where they are today.

what kind of white trash pricks yell "n*gger" at a motocross race...unfuckingbelievable. I have never ever met anybody like that in motocross where i come from...crazy shit. they might think it but they would never ever show it at a race. my buddies get drunk at the track and they start yelling at the girls...not the racers. It's only the extreme fans on either side that are the problem. It wouldn't even be a problem if they are just extreme fans. The problem is when they are extreme fans of one rider and hate on every other rider.

It happens in all sports not just SX/MX.

It happens at SX races too most likely. Will he quit SX racing now too?

I really don't get why people cross the lines and call names. If you're a fan be a fan of the sport and everyone on the track.

I understand why James skips this thing if people are ungrateful, but I'm a bit disappointed that he lets them "win". The others admiration should balance that up, just because some are such assholes towards him, I feel others might be there to compensate that?

Don't let this piece of drunken white trash destroy our sport!

One solution to all this would be to ban alcohol at the races. I really newer got why people need to get drunk to appreciate mx or sx. We have those trash at the GPs as well. Those are for sure expendable. Let them puke elsewhere. Maybe we would attract more families if these fucktards stayed home?
If he quit because of a racial comment made, he should go watch the movie about Jackie Robinson or read about Jesse Owens. If he quit outdoors because of this, he is not the champion I thought he was and personally I am unimpressed with his attitude. An EXTREME minority in the fan population of motocross thinks about race at all and for him to give up tells me he doesnt have the heart of a champion. I have never heard one racial comment at any mx/sx event I have ever attended, pro or otherwise.

Best quote through the whole thing was when Big James said that a guy told him, " We dont race ni**ers here." And Big James said, " Good, I came here to race motorcycles."

i would not think that is his reasoning for "quiting". i do believe a big part is he is on a supercross only team. i think itll end up being like what kdub said. last summer was a looong off summer. james will be back. he brought alot of diversity to our sport, and he knows it, and knows its a good thing.

dude, that's just bullshit. If Jesse or Jackie want to comment on James choices in the face of racism, that's just fine. They fought the battles.

Of course you have the right to your opinion and to be "unimpressed"...but, you get no respect for saying it unless you can tell us about how you have faced similar adversity.

I really enjoyed that show, shame though it portrayed our sport as a bunch of white power rednecks in a sense, cause if you ask me I'd say 99.9% of of us could careless what color James is, he's just a great motocrosser in our eyes.

I like how James carried himself too and I think he showed some sides to him a lot of us wouldn't have known.

Most people think of the south and racism.
Probably because there aren't too many nationals in the south...

The racism used to bug me, because when I first started back riding, I had joined the TWMX site and some of the things I was hearing towards Black people and riders wanted to make me bring a gun to the track seriously just in case....

I think I learned more about Big James than anything. I don't believe I've ever seen him interviewed before that. I have a whole new respect for the man (not that I didn't before).

Of course you have the right to your opinion and to be "unimpressed"...but, you get no respect for saying it unless you can tell us about how you have faced similar adversity.

Its bullshit that I think a true champion, in my humble opinion, does not quit something because what others say about him. I dont think that is bullshit at all. This not just race related, but in this instance comments made it appear that he "quit" racing "the following weekend" in relation to the racial comments.

So I cant recognize the true heroism in Owens or Robinson because I am not black? I also cant have an opinion about what I think a champion should stand for because I have not had "racial" adversity?

I am not looking for your respect; could care less about you or anybody on here for I gain no self worth through a MX message board. It is a board of opinion, some agree with you and others dont. Simple and nothing more.

Each of us has faced adversity in their life, some racial, some economic, some job class. Mine was a bit of the latter and I mention only because you ask, not to qualify my opinion. My father was a mechanic, and everyone knows how "stupid mechanics are." My father owned his own one car one gas pump garage business on the southside of Pgh and therefore I worked there and was talked about, questioned ("are you sure you know what you are doing" -- from the guy in the suit) and looked at (with my KMart clothes) as I grew up. Did I let "those" people disuade me from my dreams, not in the least, and my aspirations were no less difficult than Mr Stewarts. I wanted to be a Blue Angel every since I can remember and was "giggled at" by many growing up saying it. Almost achieved it. The same as being called a N****r... nah, but still degrading from others who think they are better because of a position in life.

I am still unimpressed with him if he lets a handful of people out of the thousands upon thousands that love to watch him ride, root for him or not, persuade him to not race because of a racial comment. As tough as JS seems to be mentally I would have thought his "champion" mentality would tell these people to stick their stupidity up their you know whats by going out and killing the competition even more.

If he is not racing outdoors for other reasons, then fine, it is his life and I have no problem with that at all, like many others here. I dont think there is anything wrong with a SX only contract or a MX only contract or doing both. The "season" is my reasoning for that. All other major sports that play weekly/daily and are very agressive to your body dont go from Jan to Sept. Most sport seasons are about 5 months. The training they have to do in intense and I dont blame a single one of them that can make a living by doing just one.

ok So I am confused here ????? Where in that show last night did he say he's not racing the Nationals in 2009 cause of Racial slurs ?? Did we all watch the same show ?? He is not racing the Nationals cause it's not in his contract, nothing more nothing less period. He's getting paid the same regardless if he races Nationals or not while racing the SX season.

Pretty sad actually, but I do think the sport is evolving and that old school mentality is being pushed aside. I see different types of people who show up and the tracks now to race and to watch.
Do they ride yamahas ,wear tennis shoes and proudly display the number 7 on their bikes? We had about eight to ten new people at our last race, all had the number 7 and wore sneakers....they were riding yamahas too.

btw, what are you riding now?
