So, if true, James should be in Dallas, unless his sponsors (or the AMA - ha!) deem otherwise. Can't comment on the accuracy of the report.

8/30/2011 2:02pm Oh god yes! Four stroke engine braking is wonderful and is one of the things that makes riding and racing a 4T "easier" - that is unless you are at an elite level (I'm just guessing) and are really good at holding the brakes right at the traction limit.

8/29/2011 9:11pm Watch lap 2 again. Dungey was very tentative. I couldn't tell if the bike was hosed or if he was simply tentative because he did not do the sighting lap and was still just checking out the track.

Notice the rear rotor - blue hot and likely very crappy rear brake. Notice the lower right front fork - is that black piece a "glide" mechanism to help the front end not dig into the deep berms?

8/27/2011 4:01pm This generation of Honda is very delicate, it is designed to be right at the limit for an MTBF of 40 minutes. The engine, wheels, rear shock and front forks, front and rear calipers and rotors are replaced after each moto. Sometimes the mean is greater than the race length, sometimes shorter. They visually do look very nice.
