I agree. I love my Traxxas XRT, super fun to bash. I also have a Associated b16.4 that I use at my local dirt track (SDRC raceway). Getting further away from the OG topic. They have pro events at SDRC and it's amazing how fast the pros can drive!

So I take it you never dabbled in the RC game ? Honestly $600 is very reasonable for these. I made the mistake of getting into racing RC cars with Tanner. I started with a 2WD truck (all electric), then a 4x4 truck, then a 2WD buggy and then a 4x4 buggy… all Kyosho products. I ended up with about $10K into them all with extra batteries, multi chargers, tools, etc. it’s definitely addicting once you get the hang of it ! $500.00 is dirt cheap. When I raced 1/8th buggies and truggy's , I had well over $1200.00 - $1400.00 wrapped up into them. Hell , some of the hand ported Italian motors I ran were $400 - $700 each! That was just the motor! High end kit , with upgrades , motor , servo , electronics ( Not to mention a chest full of different wheel / tire combos. Over all the years I raced , I came to the conclusion , it was not any cheaper than buying a new MX bike and start racing again. Now RC airplanes???..........Don't...

You sound a lot like me (although im sure im much slower) - as long as the bars and levers are in a position I like - I can't tell any difference in "settings". I've rode with a flat a few times before I realized it was actually flat, I know someone could completely mess around with my suspension and I would have no idea.

Some indoor rc tracks have gone to carpet offroad tracks for 1/10 scale. This gives a clean consistent track, but sacrifices real dirt feel. Alot of places won't lease a space for an indoor track if you want to bring in dirt.

Even with chance of bad weather every year, fans at least show up for the Oakland sx. Most the races this year look like there is hardly anyone in the stands. Atlanta was really empty.

Oakland sx is awesome. It will be a sad day for NorCal when the sx doesn't go there anymore. Wild animals are at outdoor tracks. Oakland sx is "core" like that.
