1/28/2020 10:57am Wow! Thanks man ( And you too 752dad ). It's amazing to hear of all the old structures in a lot of the European countrysides , towns and cities. America is still so new , we really don't have anything like that here. There was one guy on here , that told me a lot of buildings and homes in his town were 400+ years old , and that his house was actually built onto part of an old castle that was built in the late 1500's! That is just crazy! They built them places to last. Now days we...

1/27/2020 11:35am I’m no historian, but the Citadel has been there since Medieval times, when they hurled rocks with trebuchets. The stone work on the exterior visible today is actually like a veneer on much older and less sophisticated rock walls. KC

1/26/2020 2:43pm Hey everyone! Since the weather hasn't been the greatest lately (at least for those of us in the Midwest) I figured I'd share a film that I directed last year during a super last minute trip down south with one of my buddies. Hope it helps to break up those mid-winter blues! https://vimeo.com/355857221 Directed By: https://www.instagram.com/averyrost_ Featuring: https://www.instagram.com/blake_hansen200

1/26/2020 11:07am Had the opportunity to visit there last summer, that place is so historic in so many ways that it is really special. And the hills are so steep that you couldn’t walk down them. KC

1/26/2020 8:58am Some of you may know that I am just about to release a book about my 500GP days. Man, I wish I had found this photo a few months ago! This just popped up in Facebook. That, if you didn’t know, is the castle wall turn at Namur, before the riders head back up to the famous steps. We would head into this corner at 60mph along a greasy, slick cobblestone road, with that medieval wall right in front of us and protected by nothing more than a few bales and an old mattress. The ground was so slick in...

1/23/2020 4:15pm My kids recently turned 8yrs old and have been riding for fun in the backyard for the past two years. First on CRF 50s and then PW 80s this past year. I tried a Cobra 50 too early and could tell it scared them so I parked in the back of the garage and decided to just let them have fun until they felt like they wanted something more. Back in early December, my son was struggling to clear some of the jumps on the track we built because the PW just couldn't pull enough speed and he finally said...

1/23/2020 4:13pm Look for a YZ125. Super solid platform, super fun, and easy to work on. You'll have this bike forever and then when you move to your next bike (most likely a four-stroke), you'll have this to satisfy a two-stroke fix. Your height has nothing to do with it if you're an experienced rider.

1/14/2020 10:45am I just stayed down in Daytona Beach for a week between Christmas and New Years - lots of places to ride all within 2 hours of there. The closest place is Pax Trax, its about 45 minutes or so (depending on where you stay) they're usually open almost every day during this time of year. Tons of other places too - Orlando MX, Spyder MX, Bostwick Creek, Waldo MX. Check their respective facebook pages for days/hours that they're open. There's a lot of good riding down there so hopefully the weather holds up for your trip and you have a...

OldYZRider1 Liked a reply to forum topic Craziest scrub ever?
1/13/2020 6:13pm The TV crew needs to do a close-up, slo-mo video of a scrub, show it during the broadcast and have JS7 explain how and why its done, the risks of doing it and the rider energy required to perform it. It happens so fast that a casual fan may not really realize how extreme a move it can be and how low they can actually lay the bike down. When you see an individual frame or photo it appears to be an impossible move to recover from and one might think the riders actually crashing. The long TV shots don't...

wide open wally Liked a forum topic USADA+UFC issues
12/26/2019 5:38pm I read the Ping thread and something I never notice anyone bring up in these topics is the Jon Jones situation from UFC with people talk about masking agents and all that. The level of testing these days are extremely sensitive, so sensitive that in the Jon Jones case it picked up on his previous failed test in Picograms. This topic was massively important because it would define how future drug testing would go not just in UFC but multiple other sports USADA tested. Joe Rogan did a podcast with Jeff Novitzky that was fascinating, he goes into super great...

12/25/2019 8:08am Bought my son a new bike for Christmas and winning his class in our AMA division! After a few years on KTM we went back blue! After so many years on the Yamaha 125s, then 250fs he just never jelled with the KTM. Going to keep the 18.5 FE and will ride occasionally but for now we are racing blue again!

mxtech1 Liked a reply to forum topic How do I torque this nut
12/10/2019 5:31pm I've spent many years working in a factory as a Manufacturing Engineer. Operators stay within their station all day and tighten the same joints over, and over, and over again. Some assemblers try to skip the torque wrench because they want to save time and because they think they are good enough to "feel" the torque. Under many different circumstances, we were able to prove that hand tightening without a torque wrench the operator was typically off nominal torque by +/- 20-30% for the most skilled workers while others struggled to hit +/- 30-45% These are skilled union workers assembling...

12/10/2019 7:47am Pretty obvious which I lean towards but regardless, I would highly suggest a "new generation tech" helmet. The more recent studies showing the benefits of softer shells for low speed impact can't be overstated. That's where most of the improvements have been made by everyone. There are a several quality products out there which is a great thing for consumer safety. The FLY Formula is my favorite (biased yes), given the past few years of helmet education I have lived through. I still think the weight advantage of the Formula is what sets it apart more than anything else. Helmet...
