MXA has really jumped up a couple notches in my book after mentioning this in their 2026 450 shootout. They were calling the F outta Kawasaki for a bunch of reliability issues too lol. I would love a reliability shootout, as a common man myself. I can't wait to buy a new Triumph MX bike in the future, once the wrinkles (big and small) get ironed out.

I would caution people to not sell their triumph too soon. MXA is on record praising the Triumph TF both the 250 and 450. This all befor the latest 450 shootout However that was preliminary reports AND even then there were veiled tones of caution in their voice. My thought when I first heard these reports was " they are cautiously concealing something". Not that they were up to no good, simply that early on they had some reasons to think there might be some trouble but havent tested long enough yet to say for sure. Then when they finally...

The only reason Ducati and Triumph got into MX because they were fooled, like everyone was, into thinking KTM was making a fortune. Well, as it turned out, KTM was SPENDING a fortune. Not making it. ducati and triumph probably are wondering the same thing the OP asks. Was this the right decision??

Both have the problem that they've no off-road dealership network. Triumph dealerships in Europe got the promise to gain sales, but instead they are confronted with bikes who have problems and the dealerships are eating the shit for it. Also I'm not sure if the real ducati dealers are keen on welcoming MX interested people, coming in the showroom, dressed in old and dirty ONE sweatshirt and ripped jeans and old air Jordan's. But we will see.

That’s why I said a top 10 or 2. Forkner couldn’t consistently score top 10s on a 250 last year and Smith is coming back from a serious injury, both on a bike that is still being developed for SX. You guys can downvote me all you want, but let’s see who’s right come May. It will be an accomplishment if Forkner can make the main event at A-1.

I can tell you how they’re being implemented.. As a consumer, imagine ordering a replacement brake rotor from a retailer in Europe or Japan and you will be charged 65% tariffs by the broker to clear it through customs. That $150 rotor will cost you almost $250. This is what importers are now dealing with. Nobody can absorb that, it’s the end consumer that is going to feel the biggest impact. If an importer can afford to eat these tariffs, their profit margins prior to this must have been astronomical.

The 50% tariff is on steel and aluminum.
