Does this mean KTM has an open seat for CHASE?

It's the right move for both of them. No need to rush this.

Sacha in SMX next is odd to me. An MXGP MX2 and AMA Pro Motocross race winner racing SMX Next? I can’t be the only one thinking it’s odd.

I think it is the right move simply because SX seems to take transplants a season or so to get used to it.

Next or Pro, if Sacha and/or his bike doesn't end up in the 200 level at some point it will be a great success

What do they mean transition to 250 East?  They don't normally predict which coast they will run 14 months in advance, so could they be saying he will race SMX next on the 250 west round in 2027 (A2) and start 2027 Supercross on the East Coast at round 5 (Tampa)?  That would give him a live race at A2 before the East coast season starts.  It would be a weird way to word it if so...  So maybe it really means he is not running pro SX in 2027, which does seem kind of odd

You’re not the only one. I think it’s a BS move. The SMX Next program is not meant for professional let alone a multiple race winner. He has access to the best SX tracks, trainers and coaches. He can learn the craft on practice tracks and race whichever regional series at whatever time he and his team feels he’s ready. So a rider that won a national by 20+ seconds is going to line up against a B rider… sounds fair to me.

I read it as a few races west coast to dip toes into it, but also more practise time in between before East series start. Get some gate drops.

Think it's a good strategy compared to no races and straight into first pro race when east starts.

The top 10 SMX riders are pretty much full times pro and has been on SX since 85cc. Give it up.

He hasn't had one single gate drop in SX yet. Been on SX for what, 3 months of his life.

Think it makes perfect sense.

Has Sasha ever ridden a SX track before? How long has he been in the USA and riding at the KTM compound? If Sasha is really going to ride SMX next I applaud the choice . . . SX is knarly dangerous

Doing an SMX Next  or two, if a few years Proffessional is allowed to do so,  before the 250SX East series could be a good thing for him - and others entering the maelstrom of SX for the first time.

But, a question : who is this  ' eightysix328 ' ? - and why we should take note of this Instagram posting?

PS, the only Instagram I see, are posts put up from it on a few sites - I'm not on it, at all.

Surprising but great and clever move from Sacha. We all thought it will be dangerous for Sacha having 0 SX experience with his riding style, so only racing a handfull of races with less competition makes totally sense

Those next kids are groomed on SX tracks ,they'll all have far more experience on  a SX track then him.

Sx is a grind and there's riders that have been riding SX their whole lives who get hurt often in SX. How many times do we say it's about who survives until the end of the season?

I think it's a great move for Sacha

Smx next???? Wtf??? Sasha needs to chill, but he also has the talent for racing a full west or east championship.... futures/next/whatever its called this yr is just wasting a yr of his time imo....

Lucas... as he has yet to recover from that nerve injury.... he may never be the same...

So just race a couple of regular SX rounds... SMX Next?  C'mon, that's a feeder class.. he has no business in it.  Just my opinion.

The clip sounds like an AI voice and they claim the info is from Swap Moto.  But I don't see anything about it on the Swap Moto site.

And neither has Lucas going to the 450 directly. Maybe it has something to do with them no being the same person 🤦

Anyone with a brain can see why this is a great decision (if true) for Sasha.

He will be the rider with the least amount of SX experience on the gate probably, even if he races Paris.

Agree 100%, wasn't the East/West bullshit started so "kids" could learn the ropes, now that is a jobs program. Now SMX next has a guy who raced a factory KTM in GPs?

No, anyone with a brain can actually see that a guy going into his 4th year as a pro shouldn't be racing against amateurs. If he's not comfortable indoors, take the '27 SX season off, learn the craft and come out swinging for the '28 season.

Then u need to blame the organizers who define those rules to enter not the ones doing what is provided to them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Huh? 250 east starts in like 4 months. Sounds like he wants a couple "warm up" races before he throws hi.self in the mix. Whether its cool of him to mix it up with a bunch of "amateurs" is debatable. Id be cool with him doing 1 race before starting a season though just to see what its like.

I thought I read on Vital that SX and MX are two completely different sports....which is why euros beat us at MXONs, since americans focus on SX. Just cause a rider is fast outdoors doesnt make him skilled at SX.

and I really doubt he is taking anyones thats deservings spot,

Yeah not a credible source that’s for sure.

If Lucas isn’t racing Supercross then he may as well go race the Mxgp openers to get some gate drops. Or do what? What haarup did & go race qualifiers? GTFO
