Sexton leaving Kawasaki?

Come on, man. That bike malfunction that's only ever happened to KTM bikes on that specific track could have happened to any bike on any track

The guy I was responding to stated that he was liking the KTM when he left.  Based on what I saw at Ironman, that is false.

My bad.  I had to reread it.

Chase needs to lock in and suck it up. He’s going to waste his career with this musical chair bs

You know, seems like by this time of the year we have historically seen every Silly Season rider/team move announced. Why is the Sexton situation taking so freaking long? Is it due to his injury recovery? Are they fighting over contractual loopholes? Are Sexton's new Alpinestars kits taking longer to make? Are we shooting for 50-pages? Does ML know the final answer, but can't say it online?

Or is it because there’s nothing to report as he has a multi year deal with kawi?

Is anyone waiting for a press release to announce haiden at star? No because he’s on a multi year deal.

The 2027 450 launched in Europe today.  Would think Sexton will have to be part of the launch here which I believe happens on 10/24.

He's not a free agent, he's under contract for the next 2 years with Kawasaki. Nothing is going to be discussed publicly by Chase or the team until (if) he and Kawasaki reach an agreement to terminate the contract. If he has been talking to other teams, they aren't going to discuss it publicly because they could be liable to Kawi for interfering with the existing contract.

Any announcement would be that he’s leaving.  No announcement means he’s staying.

Shooting for 50 pages is the real reason..

So a guy who pretty consistently wins several races per year and is typically in podium contention for nearly every single race goes out there on the Kawi, wins 2 races, and is pretty far off podium pace for almost every other main event he participates in, but you don't think there's a slight chance the bike has anything to do with it?

His first year on the KTM he won 2 SX races in a very similar season to this one actually

It also got him a 40th to 1st result and he left.

He crashed before having that opportunity outdoors this year. I think he would've won a round or two this year too. Washougal or Ironman.

Kenny, Cooper, Hunter, Chase have all won titles since Jett moved up.

The Supercross and Motocross titles Chase won, were after other riders who were leading the championships suffered injuries, he didn't dominate.

I guess those titles dont count then. He had the most points when the series ended. Period

You are right.

However, answer this question- would Chase have a SX title if Eli hadn’t suffered one of the most bizarre injuries without even crashing?

You would think Kawasaki would want to put an end to this rumor though too. It’s not exactly a good look.

"Chase Sexton announces he's staying at Kawasaki"

Wow, what a headline haha.

22 pages but its all speculation and reaching. Assuming he stays, there will be no announcement - announcing it formally acknowledges and recognizes what is essentially all industry/media driven rumour, noise and scandal.

A lot of people drumming up a lot of drama., I'm interested to know from those in here - what is your desired outcome in this situation?

For Chase to honor the letter and spirit of his contract, to stay on Kawasaki, kick ass in 2027 and 2028, stay healthy and fight for wins every single race, and finish 1st or 2nd in both of his motos at MXoN in 2027/2028, possibly losing a spot only to an American rider.

Agree minus MXoN results 😉

Most sensible post in this thread.

Contract or not, the public vote of confidence in these situations is the norm in sports. I'm guessing the contract also has language about representing the team publicly and on social media. If you knew nothing about the situation and just checked his social media, you could figure out he's monster, astars, Oakley.... but not a thing about kawasaki in a while.

Chase was in Vegas in the past few days, presumably following up with surgeon. Cleared to ride maybe?

ML latest update says team restructuring coming. Cannot imagine chase and fahie working together again so if he's out maybe that helps chase stay?

any publicity is good publicity for Kawi right now. Keeps people talking about the cool new bikes before they even introduced them and costs them Zero dollars
