The bike sucks, period. Everyone saying things like "it's the rider's job to set-up the bike," are full of 💩.  The rider is only changing settings, they're not changing components on the bike. Chase was doing good on pro circuit suspension, and they took it off the bike. He went back to factory Kawi stuff, and wasn't a factor the rest of the year. That alone tells you that the team's base setting isn't good enough.

so you must not have heard! The 2027 Kawi is all new. No independent confirmation it sucks yet.

Btw what if the 2027 is worse? Nobody has ridden it yet, and nobody has ridden the below par factory teams version of it.

If Sexton stays at Kawi, it’ll just be what it is. He’ll collect a paycheck and fulfill his contract. He’s still a racer and will compete. Hopefully he’ll get a breakthrough on bike setup.

I think Malcolm will make him better on that Kawi and help Chase with his set-ups.

When Cooper Webb couldn't buy a win on his KTM, Malcom rode his Husky to multiple podiums and a 3rd in that series. He is consistently in the top 5-7 (when not injured) and is the 1 person that never complains about "the bike", he sets it up and rides the wheels off of it. Then Tampa 2025 comes along and he chases down Chase from way back, blitzes the whoops like nobody's business and makes the pass when Chase goes down (although that night he was gonna pass him anyways).

I think with Marchbanks and Stewart, Chase has an opportunity to ride with 2 guys that "just ride the bike'

Both Malcolm and Marchbanks are bigger guys.

People are over-thinking this.  The bike just doesn't work for Chase, like it didn't work for Prado.

With 5th-8th place finishes in-between those 2 wins, while complaining about the characteristics of the bike the entire time.

I think at this point in his career that’s the exact reason you hire a guy like Malcolm, right? He is experienced and has had success on lots of brands, the guy has been around the block and elevated every program he has been a part of. Hopefully he helps Chase.

Malcolm is one of my favorite riders out there, so I'm rooting for him, but I feel like he's gonna have a lot of small crashes on the KX.  He seems to push through imperfect bike setup better than other riders, but it definitely leads to more crashes sometimes.

The autograph signing looked like a Monster obligation, not a Kawi thing. But, he should still have Kawi logos somewhere, right?

Kawi really needs to get a top chassis engineer lined up with Chase, and only Chase, if they want this behind them. They also need to figure out the Chase/Fahe relationship moving forward, they are obviously toxic.

The longer this drags on, the more I think Chase stays with Kawi, though. He's obviously staying put at Monster, so it's going to be Monster something, and Kawi is the biggest fish in the Monster Army.

I would have guessed it wasn't any obligation, it was just Chase being a nice guy but I have no idea. That would make sense to him choosing to wear whatever he wanted to wear...

You would think Kawi has thrown the kitchen sink at this. Sometimes it's best just to split. It's like trying to live with your Ex GF or wife.

It just doesn't work and makes life worse, so might as well move on.

Pretty sure the euros are riding it currently.   They get the year early version basically.

so what's the feedback on that 1? Good, Better, or Worse than the bike Prado & Chase raced?

Yeah but his GF pays the bills and he needs a new one lined up before peacing out.

Yes, I believe Febvre was on the 2027 prototype for the last half of the MXGP season.

So a guy who pretty consistently wins several races per year and is typically in podium contention for nearly every single race goes out there on the Kawi, wins 2 races, and is pretty far off podium pace for almost every other main event he participates in, but you don't think there's a slight chance the bike has anything to do with it?

I would argue that Kawi management/engineering could be just as lost - if not more so than Chase. PC was able to get a set-up that he liked fairly quickly.

I think it's time to integrate the PC team with Factory Kawi. It seems Factory Kawi was a bit irritated with the PC solution that Chase tried early in the SX season, and quickly removed it for their own parts that they claimed were the same.

Wherever Chase ends up I really hope it works out for him, we all know he rips on a dirt bike and the racing is better with more competition out there.

I disagree, he admitted as much that the Honda was actually ok later on, he left Honda because he was not going to be the #1 rider on the team
