I don’t think the bike matters much with Sexton. He tends to have the same crashes on every brand. It’ seems to be about technique and focus.

Winning races is a big thing for a MFG...  And Ducati wants to win.  Not getting that with Colt nichols.

Do they have the resources?  Are they ready for a talent/head case like Chase?  We may, or may not find out...  Wink

HAHAHA!!!  I'm literally that guy.  And make and have made lots of money for my company.

But OK.

I think KTM should hire Sexton and do 2 things. In contract, it states father can not be within 500 feet of KTM truck and has no control over Chases riding or bike.  2nd, give him Prado's setup and see if that is what he was searching for.  Obviously, it made Prado better, maybe it would work for Chase.  Maybe that is what Chase has been searching for, and they wouldn't do it, because even for Prado, they didn't think it would make a difference and fought with him to make the change.

Could you imagine, Honda has Lawrences, and KTM would have Chase, Lucas, and Prado.  Those 2 teams would be literal powerhouses

If someone suggested we should hire a mediocre rider to hide the flaws in our subpar product as a means of making money, they would be excused from my meeting while the adults continued to talk. lol

If all these guys are healthy...Chase will have a HARD time ever winning another race...Deegan, Prado, Jett, Hunter...plus even  Roczen and Webb have all raced more than CS in the past year...and isn't Davies coming to the 450 ranks in 2028??  Sexton is on the older side of his winning days and he crapped on a lot of brands. Did he win, yes. Can he win now and actually be a championship contender again??...doubtful.

lol, he just won 2 races on a bike this year that he hates…but he’s never winning again 🤦‍♂️

ok, first this is all in good fun, that being said why would Ducati hire, at a premium price by the way, with money they probly dont have, a highly visible rider like Chase, to ultimately tuck the front end, crash, ect, and then as history has shown, blame the bike and leave halfway through the season? Does this not make sense to you as why they wouldnt want to go down that road? Come on, you cant tell me Im wrong here, but please try.

You're thinking strictly of the negatives, ignoring that he will put the bike on the podium (Ducati's First Podium in SX!) if not win (Ducati's First Win in SX!) and that far outweighs any negative that comes from his interviews with Lewis. I assume we're talking about competitive people that have confidence that they can get the product where it needs to be to win, not people afraid to compete.

It might actually be a prime time to get chase. He knows at this point he has to prove something this next year. I think it’s easy to lose hope on a bike you’re not fully gelling with after seeing how prado left kawi. His next bike even if he isn’t 100% comfortable, I think we see a chase that is fully committed.

I like where my brother from the Azores is at on this…

But, I don’t think the budgets are quite as robust as he’s thinking. Hell, the U.S. budgets are fairly tapped out and that’s got to be making Chance’s search for a new ride somewhat…

Interesting. 🤣

Anybody that has won a SX in the last year will be in demand. Like Prado was written off and is resurging, it is more likely than not that Sexton will win races in the future regardless of which brand. Will he ever be able to gel well enough to be a consistent winner/championship contender again against team Lawrence/Prado/Kenny/Deegan? That's what I am unsure of.

My guess is that no matter where he ends up, there is language in the contract that puts an end to his public bitchin' about the bike, team, or company... Also, strictly prohibiting the demeaning wearing of branded apparel..! I was surprised that KTM took Prado back. I'll be more surprised if they take Sexton back. Especially since they have the brothers coming and Prado hittin' on all 8. The motivation from a corporate position would be that he's an American and they can probably get him cheap and hungry.

One thing I’m thinking of for Ktm, is their lack of an established SX guy to test and develop their new gen bike for 27. If Prado and Conen can’t get the feeling with the 27 who do they lean on?

Not that Chase would be of any help there he seems very unique and not the tester for the stars, type.

Do we think he's ridden the '27 KX yet?  With a new frame, swingarm and the wheelbase change, this will be a significantly different bike than the '26.

If it wasn't for the dispute about what happened at Thunder Valley, I would still say staying on the KX was the likely outcome.  But none of us know...

Frankly, speculation and bench racing is fun and here we are.

I’m thinking they could get him on a solid “bonus based” contract -without- some huge sum for the base salary.

But, here’s the ringer…he’d have to ride the bike and agree to some terms and conditions…that’s if the folks at Ducati are thinking right and acknowledging the history with this rider! 🤣

With that said, any brand should use that method. Look at the history with him on…

Honda:” tuck the front”… and he left seemingly unhappy…

KTM…left unhappy…

Kawasaki…well…uh…yeah.

Come to think of it…

Michael Byrne went out and raced on his own when he had no contract.
Barcia…same as Byrne.
Chad, too.

I’m jus’ sayin’…

I don't recall the timing but during Pro Motocross Fahie said in an interview that they had not seen the '27 bike yet and didn't even know the specs or updates to know what to expect. Pretty surprising. I don't think Sexton is back on a bike yet so I don't see how he would have had an opportunity to ride the '27.

Yes, 100%...  I forgot the comments about not seeing the bike yet and his injury was early in the season.  We know what the factory has said about the changes as reported by multiple media sources.

"Updates to the intake and exhaust systems give the 2027 KX450F a stronger, more responsive feel when the throttle is opened, with improved low-end pull and stronger performance through the mid- to high-rpm range. A redesigned chassis, including a revised swingarm, improves rear-wheel traction and control, while a longer wheelbase adds stability at speed, helping riders stay planted in demanding conditions. Premium components, including a full Brembo braking system, further enhance performance and control on the track."

So, is it more of an unknown than a completely different bike and team?  I'd suggest no.  And the contract is in place and big money.  Is the relationship irreparable at this point?

I agree with the bitching about the bike, but not the apparel. I think everyone on here blew that up. I see no issue with wearing a backward hat or unbuttoned button up and I don’t think his intentions were to be disrespectful by unbuttoning a t shirt.

How many times has he straight up beat Jett so far, two times - maybe three? Hunter has since made a jump, Prado and Deegan are not getting slower. Coenens and Davies are coming as well. It will be tough for Sexton.

The GP thing doesn't really seem like a pathway.  Chase strikes me as someone who would prioritize SX.  But who knows?

I agree; but, had to take into consideration that “he went there”.

Truth be told, he’s wise to look into ALL of his options since he’s painted himself into the corner he’s in.

What do you think?

I do hope Sexton figures out the Kawi or visa versa and he stays with them for a while...it's nice to have the green bike in the mix.

They forgot to include the anti-engine-shutoff-in-midair-endo and anti-front-end-tuck features.

Crazy how few people have nuance in their takes. I think it's pretty clear that Factory Kawi is a bit of a mess right now and it certainly is making matters worse. At the same time, Chase is notoriously bad at setting up a motorcycle and gets way too mental about chasing the perfect feel. Both things can be true, and it's pretty obvious.

He might actually be a good fit on the Ducati, its an aluminum frame with showa suspension.  But would Ducati even want him?

The bike he wants off of right now has an aluminum frame and Showa suspension.

Kawasaki - They need to fire Fahe, and maybe a couple other execs. Last 3-4 years have been atrocious. Chase could still be "in" I think.

Honda - no.

Yamaha - Maybe. My algorithm keeps bringing him up there, with a decent past relationship.

KTM - No. Also, didn't they go through a huge restructuring last year, where they about lost everything? I guess that's why Husky and GasGas disbanded.

Suzuki - Seeing the posts here, that looks promising, especially if Roczen retires.

Ducati - I thought I heard someone recently say they had a really tight budget = no money?

Triumph - Wasn't there a rumor of him going there? RC seems to talk him up whenever he was on-screen racing last season.
