The miss the old Vital MX. It's still my "go to" for motocross talk, but it is being overtaken by immature idiots that have driven away some of the people that used to make it great. It's like 8th grade in here sometimes, but until I find better I guess I'll be here.
Seeing the "I miss...." title of this with nothing else, made me feel like I was clicking on a Big Lenny thread, every time he started a thread, he did the exact same thing to get you to click it. I guess going back to the same crowd - people may have disagreed, but nobody hid behind anonymity - at some capacity people directly or indirectly knew who just about everybody was away from this place, I knew a lot of users by first and last name. Nobody hated like it's a sport.... Which sadly is taught behavior and the people with nothing but hate don't even realize it's them. People talked moto, not just blind insults all day - this ties back to hating like a sport (when we are all supposed to be on the same team here to love our sport). At the end of the day, we would all buy each other a beer even if we disagreed about a rider, or even the dang wheelie boys.
The people downvoting this are the problem and have no clue this place used to be actual fun among friends for the real love of moto, not a place to spend your time anonymously hating people who disagree and insult all day. This isn't politics, its moto... we are all supposed to love. Social media has mind-f*cked a lot of people (blindly).

Those guys + BOOBYM had some epic meltdowns!
it’s not exclusive to vital. Go to a concert, go to a movie, race, fair, etc. It’s just society now. We’re cooked.
It’s not just Vital, it’s in everything. Common respect is lost on many. This place used to be packed full of knowledge, now it’s just guys trying to prove you wrong.
I don’t think you’re right about that.
He is totally right but U are not!
The build, tech and old school & for sale sections are mostly still full of good peeps and information….thats where I tend to gravitate…I like to bust balls but try not to be a total tool😂
Opinions vary.
It was intended to be irony. Is this thing on?
Yep. It's the whole world. You can't express an OPINION on anything without being drug down by a bunch of basement dwelling, pale skinned, MX vs. ATV champions. Peoples opinions on moto (and anything) used to be very close with some slight differences that were easily accepted on a person by person basis. Now, I can't believe some opinions I see on certain happenings. I don't share half of my moto thoughts on here anymore cause I don't want to deal with the constant explanations and abuse, it's time consuming and flat out dumb.
I think everyone would benefit if everyone just "let things slide" every once in a while and accept that not everyone has the same thoughts or lived the same life experiences as you.
I miss it. I wish we could go back to just before Facebook came out. Perfect time of life. Tech was good, but not consuming, dial up internet was gone, TV was good, and you could act like a jackass without a video of it popping up on social media later.
I agree, this isn't a personal diary for people to air their irrelevant grievences of society at large.
Seems like their motivation is to muster vitard support for their emotions.
I totally agree. I've loved moto for decades, and Vital was more moto than not for a long time. Now it's multiple posts by attention seeking trolls and those that want to argue about absolutely everything. And, the downvote thing hasn't made things any better. I used to hang here for hours...now it's minutes. Sign of the times I guess...
I miss the sport before the era of social media. Not only did social media conveniently give everyone a voice, but character limits and comment sections influenced people to communicate in the most provocative and reactionary manner possible, for the intention of producing engagement (all for their own benefit). Intellectual discussion is non-existent and critical thinking has been tossed out the window in favour of mob mentality. The division and hostility has made browsing socials after the races, or even downtime between races a miserable experience. This isn't mutually exclusive with MX/SX and is a problem with virtually all forms of entertainment, but our sport managed to preserve it's identity of people who followed along because they owned bikes or were heavily rooted in racing. I believe that core fanbase still exists but it continues to be drowned out by noise and the noise seems to get louder as the years go by.
In laymen's terms, I miss when the sport was appreciated for what it was. I miss when people valued their moral compass more than entertainment. I miss when people weren't in need of constant mental stimulation and utilized common sense. I miss when common sense didn't have to be redefined every 5 minutes because of someone twisting the facts. I miss when people didn't use their voice to drag people through the mud (looking at you Cooksey, Ping and Denny Stephenson). I miss when kids had good role models to look up to. Most importantly, I miss when MX/SX was about racing and not some WWE nonsense.
The downvote feature should go.
The admins have the ability to regulate the stupidity as they’ve recently done on a few occasions.
