Triumph took less than an hour to turn down my buy back request on my 25 450 RC

It’s crazy the amount of issues these bike are having. I hate to hear you got the short end. 

Is there a crack in this area? I've never seen coolant just seep through a cylinder, wtf is happening here?

Definitely looks like a porosity hole in the cylinder bad casting the fact that Triumph doesn't back any of this is crazy I guess they don't plan on being around for very long!

IMO, 

There might not be many bad bikes sold, but there is enough bad reports to sway buyers to other brands.

I’ll be more likely to buy a Kove than a Triumph.

What ratshit support. Not great from a brand trying to launch in to a new market.

I wonder if a tiny spot of JB Weld might keep you up and running, or even a proper TIG weld?

Sorry to hear about this. With build quality and customer service like that I won't be buying one that's for sure. 

Seen this on another brand. You can weld it.

Yep. Imagine if zxmoto or kove were having same amount issues as triumph. They would be done.

I always say the same thing then my dumbass bought a Ducati. Luckily I can't ride too much, so hopefully the first model problems aren't as bad. lol

This isn’t acceptable for a new bike that is being pitched as a premium product.

Saw Triumph have started putting out a video series on their off-road range and its inception and wondered why nobody has posted it on Vital. They’re not doing themselves any favours with this sort of service despite how well they’ve done competing in races.

I hadn't been paying much attention to Triumphs to be honest. But I noticed a local intermediate recently switched from Triumph to Fantic mid season. He was parked next to me at the races last weekend so I asked him about it. He said he and 4 friends went in together and got a great deal buying 5 Triumphs from a dealer in Slovakia. Every one of the bikes took a dump in some way, shape or form within a year. Engine cases cracking, clutch basket failure, cracked rear hub, etc etc. Dude said the bike was a dream to ride but it was a pile of shit reliability-wise. 

He said he went with the Fantic because it's like a lighter Yamaha with an Akropovic exhaust & GET electronics out of the box. There's a couple of Fantic's racing my local series out here in Silesia. 

First thing to do if your the manufacturer : hold your hands up if there is a problem

Second thing to do: is then fix it under warranty, simple as that 

The Internet makes the world a small place, They should take a leaf out of Beta book, I remember seeing on the net when they had issues, and addressed the issues even with a bunch of hours on the bike, then people was saying how great they dealt with it. 

If they refused to buy back the bike , did they offer to repair it instead ?

I can sort of understand triumph not wanting to buy back a used bike ( they are in the business of selling new bikes, not the business of buying used bikes) but I would have expected them to do something about a repair.

Moto 839, did you ask for a buy back only ? 

theyre probbaly too busyt making sure their new 800cc moto2 motor wont implode on the world stage to care about this stuff. 

Are they prepared to replace the cylinder? 

That's porosity, it should have been pressure tested as a minimum, and if it passed, with that level of leak i dont think that would fail. 

Bars Leaks would sort it.  

On large castings i have worked on in the past , resin sealing is an acceptable rework, but you would never do it on anything this small, as its not worth the effort. 

Especially considering see at most one of them at the track vs 50-75 of other brands each

Do they come with a warranty?

Getting it repaired and sell it…move on….the manufacturers who been in this game for years often have issues, leap of faith to think Triumph would not have teething issues in the first few years….

Man, what bummer. Feel bad for the issues you’ve had. I liked the Triumph’s, but hate hearing this.

Did they offer any form of warranty? No bike brand is going to buy back any bike, let alone a two model year old used one.

OP don't listen to the " you should've known crowd". Triumph has been in business for over 100 years. They are one of the most globally recognized motorcycle companies in history. They have a worldwide dealer and service network. And, they invested heavily in developing this bike and proving it at the highest level.

The idea that you should've known that they would make a bIke that couldn't last 10 hours and wouldn't support it is wrong.
