I don't listen to any podcasts. If anything noteworthy is mentioned it will make it to the Vital forum, like Deegan refusing to race unless he's paid. Seems I only see that from guys like herr wolf that have no credibility. Wanting to be paid and refusing to go unless you are paid are two different things.

You are mistaken, it happens more than you realize. In the 70s it was very difficult to get riders to go, we sent no teams at all in 1979 or 1980. Americas very first victory in the event was realized when Decoster sent his Honda team riders to the event because nobody else would go; I believe he continued to do this for several years. I understand the fans being pissed, but the organizers make a shit ton of money at this event to the expense of the riders, I understand riders not wanting to go after a long season as well. Say you spent a 32 week stretch working seven days a week flying out of town every weekend and somebody asked you to work for nothing so they could make bookoo bucks? Don't wrap in the flag too tightly.
