Has stopped making snowmobiles, bikes and now announced last year of SxS (thought that was a hot market?) Are motorcycles in jeopardy? They seem too big to fail but just seems like a lot of shoes have dropped 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure about Yamaha, but HD is having a real problem with new unit sales.

HDs biggest market is now europe but even that is stale. All powersport sales are dragging just like car sales.

HD's issue ive been fighting with them about is themselves and the culture of the board there.

They got rid of ex puma boy and stuck another dumb fuck in there. I reccomended a certain guy from some little know gear brand renen and was told he might not understand the motorcycle industry enough... wtf.

Harleys issues is bad management plain and simple.

They have been having issues for a while, that will happen when most of your market is boomers and they're aging out of riding

We're still suffering the consequences of massive overspending (which hasn't stopped) from the last 7 years.

But some of the issues are self-inflicted. HD way overinvested in increased capacity and the stupid Livewire idea. Same with Yamaha (and KTM) getting into mountain bikes during the peak as if it was going to last forever.

Talked to a sales manager recently at a shop when I sold them my daughters TTR125. He's been in sales for well over 20 years and he told me it has been the worst year for sales he has ever seen.

Is the DSA crowd going to be promising free bikes for everyone, just like free everything else?

Asking for an independent friend.😂

They’re definitely desperate. A new one is about 40k so to get people to afford the payments I saw adds for terms out to 96 months. Wild.

Nope, they are going to make it where the government owns all the land that isn’t sold to China.
Won’t be anyplace to ride.

Apparently, like Honda, Yamaha is lending their own money now for sales and finance. Who is doing dealer floor planing?

The Japanese companies are too conservative (aka slow) to react to changing markets.

If you look at Polaris or BRP they are CONSTANTLY innovating or adding things year after year. Nothing is static for those 2 companies. A new Honda or Yamaha UTV looks vintage compared to their respective new Polaris or Can-Am units.

$40k for a sport SxS? Please. The new 2027 Polaris Pro R Boost starts at over $50k and Polaris will sell every one that they make.
