Ummmm.....boxing was on a pay per view basis way before it was on network TV and that was on HBO so you still had to pay They went to the pay per view when the tech caught up to allow people to pay over $100 to view the fight at home...to see any of the big matches in the 70's and early 80's like Ali-Frazier you had to watch it via closed circuit I remember as a kid going to watch the big Ali fights at the local movie theatre to watch it live. ABC would do a follow up on the fights but could only show photographs of the action on TV and no replays so they would interview the fighters like a week after the fight. What killed boxing was the emergence of MMA (also on pay per view) so the analogy you are using with boxing is not correct....
Interesting coincidence that once they banned Slowie they felt confident that footage wouldn't leak, so they could charge for access.

Love the downvotes when you are just sharing the truth lol.
Honestly my biggest issue is FLO tv, not the $40 itself.
One of the kids on the football team I coach is a top nationally ranked wrestler & my family wanted to watch him at worlds, which was hosted on FLO. We paid the $29.99 or whatever it was & for three straight days the matches we tried to watch weren't being hosted, or the link went to a different mat. We never saw a single match he was in.
FLO will never get another dollar out of me.
In the 60s and 70s, the high profile bouts were broadcast tape-delayed on the 3-letter networks. Cassius Clay v. Sonny Liston and Joe Louis bouts were 'closed-circuit' events. The broadcast was distributed to movie theaters which fans purchased tickets to gain entry. BUT (and here's the difference), the fights were also shown on ABC a few days to a couple of weeks later. I believe the same is true with the Indy 500. I remember watching that with my older brother at a theater downtown.
All coverage lost world wide.
As you are aware some people don't want to know the truth....
So is anyone’s “free” stream from Amazon prime showing anything? I just get a screen with nothing else 🤷♂️
Thanks for your post that's the screen I have. THe coolest thing about LL was watching from home live all day. I have video now.
Yep giving me some entertainment now
This chubby guy is pitiful.
The applause/laugh track added to the preshow interviews is definitely worth at least $20, glad they went all in on ways to improve the show
It's on Prime right now. Kevin Kelley and Weege are live.
Funny, I remember sitting at home with my grandma and a big tub of popcorn watching the Ali/Spinks fight on live tv and that was February 1978.
Little Dave used to give it away…..now viewers have to pay and paaaaaaayyyy……..A subscription here and a subscription there, Loretta Lynn’s is now the place where they say, hey babe, you can’t watch Amateur racing free today…..And Cotter sings, “dough-de-do-dough-dough, dough-dough, dough-de-doo, dough, dough, dough, dough, dough de-do, do-do-do……..
I don't believe the better production angle. GNCC is the only thing I'd watch out of all of it. For the last few years the stream has been two lame camera angles in the woods and a drone shot where the riders look like ants (when you can see them through the trees). Why would I pay for that? The production was better 10-15 years ago....
Pit Row
Sign sign everywhere a sign in paywall here and a pay wall there, hey Mr what gives you the right!?
Message from the future: "Most viewed Loretta Lynns in history".
Can't even watch the Prime version in Canada. What a crock of shit. Hopefully all of the sponsors are super happy with the reduced viewership.
Happy to report I found an...alternative method to watch the weeks racing.
DM me 😂
I hope with the new revenue stream MX sports is finally able to pay the pro racers that didn't get their payout.
My dad was saying you can watch on prime video is that true?
Partially.
they are showing two hours of it every evening. It's not the full event.
i'm on prime video now, says live feed starts at 1 pacific today. No extra cost
