thanks fte. those montesa cota 25's had high gear and low gear. you had to stop and lift a lever with your hand to choose.

Great thread - so many memories - Those gate drops where every bike was a Yamaha - too much man - I see one kid lined up on a trials 80 - atta boy- run what you brung - nothing fit/nothing matched/ just line up and race.   Milk crates/Real Gatorade in glass bottles/dust everywhere/

When you arrived you pulled right up to the snow fence surrounding the racetrack and that was your pit.  Great old days -

Really cool pics  Tricka.  Seem to be about the same age and I would have killed to have had the dirt bikes you did. Parents weren’t about it so all I had was bmx back then. 

It is from 1982 the first of 3 year's that wrangler sponsored the SX series.

I had a pare of those Carerra goggles in the mid 70s. That's cool yu kept a couple pair. They are impossible to find now.

I loved the Carrera 98 goggles and probably would. use them today unless it was really dusty.  Before the crash in 208 beat up ones were going for $300 plus on Ebay.

I don't know guys. I was sponsored by Carrera in 1983. They even paid contingency money at the nationals. But the tracks pretty much were always dusty back then and the open bottoms on those goggles weren't great in my opinion.

For a pic from 1974 the resolution is pretty incredible. Do you recall the camera brand?

Thanks. Yeah, because I was a Moto kid , my dad wouldn't let me rip the skateboard bowl without a lid . I was the only  on a BMX or a skateboard that wore a helmet. That was the rules other than that one here where I must've ripped it off when dad  wasn't around lol. This is a cook brothers. I also had a PK mini Ripper, a Vector and a factory Kuhahara. The Vector was next level technology, but it was too stiff. It didn't flex enough to get the snap I needed out of the transitions in the skateboard bowl. I wish I had photos of it. It was a long downhill snake bowl where you could catch mega air over the transition humps, and then rip big air out of the bowl at the bottom. It was a great spot.
