Camp Mystic, in Texas I think now has an early warning system, but it is about as cheap as they could get.
When did mx sports buy ironman?
I dont think they have ever owned a track.
Not highpoint
Not steel city
Closest thing is if jeff russel owned the land his track, sunday creek, was on.

Ironman is a terrible track. I raced both last year and would take LL anytime. LL is a much better test of rider skill and way less sketchy also.
I don’t know where this rumor started and I see it all the time but Ironman is owned entirely by the shaver family
If you know someone on their way to LL tell them to Slow their roll

I thought MX sports bought Ironman. When I was back visiting in Indiana I was told that. But I could be wrong.
Think that is an older video or something, I know of like 5 different ppl already there including my son and they are parked by the river and all in good to go as of now.
No, they had a storm roll through last night. The ground is too soggy right now to park anyone so the campground is closed as of now. People who were already parked are there, just no new entry as of now.
AMA will not be going to Freestone anytime soon. Freestone recently started a new sanctioning body called NMA. National Motorcyclist Association. All there races and race series are now the new NMA.
New?
NMA was around since the 80's, at least.
Resurrected maybe, I don't know.
The old NMA was around since the 70's. Ron Hendrickson started in as the National Minicycle Association. It stepped in as the dominant mini racing organization when the Y-AMA went away and ran the World Mini GP and Ponca.
I'm sure there's no relation to what Freestone is trying to get off the ground. Just Texas political infighting in motocross...nothing to see here.🤣
Different group back the it was national Minicycle associaten
The NMA from the 70's was originally National Minicycle Association, then changed to National Motosport Association. I actually won an NMA Championship in the 70's on an XR75. They shut down about 15 years ago.
Freestone NMA National Motorcyclist Association has nothing to do with the old NMA. Its a new motocross sanctioning body.
I'm old enough to remember Surber's GNC series and Lake Whitney in Texas. I used to make the trip out there yearly for that race.
Freestone would knock it out the park! Plus they have a driving range!
I'm old enough to remember when the GNC final was raced in the Astrodome. I raced inside there in 81, before Whitney became its home. In fact, we bought our first new Pro Trac at Whitney in March of 83 from Jerry, as he had a Pro Trac dealership at the time. We were supposed to bring it home after the race was over, so we loaded up 5 KX mini cycles, 3 kids, Parents, a weeks worth of clothes, race gear, tools, gas cans, an Atari 2600, small color tv, and a 3 month old St. Bernard pup, all stuffed in a new Ford conversion van for the 12 hour trip. That my friends defines the golden era of American amateur MX. Damn that was stupid fun, and damn I AM OLD.
Pit Row
Back in the day Florida had two winter series one was NMA and called the Winter Warm up and the other was AMA called the Florida Winter Am
I think this is what I was referencing.
I can't for the life of me understand why Lorettas track is on boring flat ground when the whole area is surrounded by cool hills.
make it make sense..
The track is gnarly to race on. You should try and take a lap.
Agreed. The track has to work for PW's up to 450's and it is great for that. It is plenty challenging and hills wouldn't add to it IMO. It is a special place, only gets used for the one event, and you have to qualify twice to be allowed to come. That's why it is a tru National Championship. I wish other sports would do this. Mountain Biking for example.
Davey said in an interview that the reason that it was how it was, was so that the track was the focal point in the centre. And he acknowledged that there were plenty of places you could have made a killer track.
It’s sold as a race / holiday with the creek and all the amenities there couldn’t be much better spot for it right?
the hills are rocky, the flat land is river dirt
Every bit of that sounds great.
Do they make a Scoop tire for Golf Carts ?
NMA was never a series in Florida. It was the NML, National Motorcycle League. I still have my original NML Pro License from 1975.
Yes, yes they do.
Can get "regular" ITP mud tires for 8in diameter rums as well as straight up paddle tires.
