I think it a testament to how fricking fast those Brothers are. He’s sitting 3rd in the points and been on the podium several times. So far he is doing great, especially being a 450 Rookie. I thought his first moto last Saturday coming up for a top 5 after that first turn was pretty impressive.

Stat wise in the last 10 years the only upcoming 250 MX champs that did worse in their rookie years were Webb and AP.

Zacho, Cianciarulo, Ferrandis, Jett, and Hunter all did better in their first outdoor year.

yeah but Deegs isn't racing RV2,Dungey, Reed, Stewart, Roczen or prime Tomac. Other wise Deegs would be further back in points?

(more than the current 50 points he is back..)

See how silly that sounds?

So Danger isn’t having a great rookie season setting 3rd in points and several podiums. Gotcha!🤦‍♂️

Who gives a shit. Was Deegs gapping anyone?

This shit gets old.

Is life so miserable for some that they just have to make sure everyone knows how far back he was?
So like if you could convince everyone that Deegs cannot ride and should hang it up, would that make you happy?

Keep it simple.

Deegs is a bad ass on a bike. Maybe the best American on 450 right now and moving forward (SX still to come).

His YouTube persona is douche with some more douche thrown in.
Respect his profit he makes off of YT and his corny persona.

Now the clowns can argue back and forth about…….

Note: it is a forum of MX so expect. ✌️

Vitards making Deegan fans! Who would have thunk it. He’s a 450 rookie! Outside of incidents he is typically the 3rd fastest guy on the track. I didn’t like his mouth but find myself hoping he will lay one of the golden boys down one day.

Webb didn’t come on like gangbusters in the 450’s either. Deegan will get there barring injuries. If he would tame the mouth he would be the fan favorite.

Deegan had faster laps than Hunter on laps 10, 14, 15, and 17. Haiden had faster laps than Jett on laps 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, and 17.  So on lap 10, while pushing through the pack, Deegan had a faster lap. The remainder of the laps, Deegan was basically running their pace as the broadcast stated. But none of that matters because you’ll just conjecture that Hunter and Jett were just out there for a cruise, enjoying the sites and sounds, right?

It’s interesting to contrast last week where Lucas went from last to 4th, and this week where Deegan went from last to 4th. So I did a little digging.

The comments section in the Bench Racing thread last week looked like this:

“Lucas is in 13th already, wtf”

“Oh my God this guy is hauling”

“Lucas just matched Jett’s pace 3rd lap passing like 10 guys”

“top ten already ?????”

“Herlings 2.0?”

What’s interesting is that if you look at the lap times for Southwick, Lucas had the fourth fastest lap behind Jett, Deegan and Hunter.

Now compare the comments in the Bench Racing thread where Deegan goes from dead last to 4th:

“You ain’t going to be the champion, Doucheboy”

“Deegan is sending  but still losing time to Hunta”

“ unreal would be dead last to the win…#bedbugssodesperate”

“Deegan is a beast and all but I think this race also shows outside three or four guys the field is pretty weak”

“A a lot of those last passes were old men”

To be fair, there were comments also giving Deegan props for his ride, even by those who are not fans of Haiden. But when you look at the negative comments, it shows the disparity and the bias that many of you have when it comes to Haiden Deegan.

And we’re supposed to think that you are looking at this objectively?  This place encapsulates idiocracy when it comes to Haiden Deegan; like a dystopian anti-intellectual habitat for so called moto fans who care neither for facts or fairness.

What's so hard to understand?

He's acts like a total asshole, because he is one.  He talked a lot of shit before the season (and still does), accused Jett of using his foot as an excuse when he never did, while constantly coming up with his own repeated excuses; "It's my rookie year, still building, learning year, not as much time on a 450 than all these veterans."

Therefor, there will naturally be people who are happy to shit on him when he doesnt live up to expectation.

Coenen on the other hand, lets his riding do the talking, and acts like an actual normal person...not some tweaking yapping fuck tard, therefor he will generally appeal to fans with functioning brain cells.

It’s not hard to understand at all. I understand it perfectly well which is why I said that this place is a microcosm of idiocracy when it comes to Deegan. Pretty ironic you’d talk about appealing to people with functioning brain cells when you’ve shut off critical thinking and have instead replaced it with your feelings about Deegan.

You are just reaffirming my point that when it comes to Deegan, his haters are essentially letting their personal feelings, and to emphasize, opinions of Haiden, cloud any fair or charitable thoughts they might have on the matter.

Lucas goes from last to 4th and we hear that he’s Herlings 2.0. Deegan does the same thing, passing the same riders, and he’s just passing “old men” in a field that is weak outside the top 3 or 4 riders. How’s that work?

It seems to me that all you did was admit you’re biased.

Lucas was in 4th after 20 minutes, 30 seconds behind the leader.
Deegan was in 11th after 20 minutes, 56 seconds behind the leader and 4th place on the last lap?

I wrote "Herlings 2.0?", with a question mark. Not because I think he`s like Herlings, but the race reminded me of Herlings at Iron man (from last to first) and it looked like we could get a replay.

I dont think he is going to be able to close the gap before Ironman.  But I do think the weird ass SMX tracks will be a different story and the gap will be much smaller.

It’s all good till someone starts talking about Deegan doing good, and then it’s “OMG, he didn’t even come close to anyone! He was really last place compared to everyone even though he got a podium.”

It’s gonna take time for Deegan to mature on the 450. In the meantime he’ll have to settle for a podium.

I still stand by that, because they were, just as they were when Lucas passed them. The difference for me was, Lucas wasn’t losing time to the leaders. He just wasn’t. Deegan was impressive nonetheless, but it just wasn’t as good as Lucas.

Staying close to the leaders lap times that have a completely open track while using whatever line he had to use in order to be making passes is a huge achievement.

Deegan already knows that he is going to end the outdoors in 3rd place but come playoff time and the points reshuffle he is still in contention for that championship.

SMX is not a championship. It's a three-race gimmick in which the sole purpose is designed to keep more riders from competing in WSX.

funny since it comes with $1,000,000 + checks and championship trophies are on the champions mantles.

The Deegan haters are far worse than the so called “bed bugs”.  They look like idiots at this point.

As far as Deegan, he’s doing awesome. He’s in his rookie season going up against Hunter Lawerence, who is riding the best he ever has, Jett, who even with an injured foot is one of the best riders in the world. He’s beating a 4x World Champion and the rest of the class in his rookie season. All of them are seasoned 450 riders.

For context, Hunter didn’t win any overalls in his rookie season, was consistently well back from Sexton, and Jett was out injured. Sexton won one overall in his rookie season, but had only so-so results in the rest finishing 5th overall in a somewhat weak class.

Tomac didn’t win a 450 title for 3 seasons, and Jett, well Jett is an exception who went 22-0 in his rookie season, but I don’t think any of them faced the competition Haiden has in their rookie seasons. Yet some are acting like Haiden will never win in the 450 class. If anything Deegan will get better, he’s just taking his lumps now while the keyboard heroes touch tips at the thought of him losing.

OMG this is so true.... I am a race fan and both Jett and Deegan fan but the hate is ridiculous at this point. Yeah, Jett went 22-0 his rookie season but against who? He didn't have a field this deep and if you drop another Jett and Hunta in to his rookie season he never would have went 22-0. I think he would be right where Deegs is... in 3rd chasing and learning.
