Just want to see him finish both motos strong, with no late race fade.
No matter where he finishes.
Because he's racing for the top spot. He hasn't gotten it, but unlike some riders, that's his target each time he lines up.
This is all logical, but not my point.
Tomac will historically not ride over his head to get it, but he races to win. When he lines up, I believe he's not thinking "If I can just beat all but the top 3 today it'll be good".
He's racing for wins.
Aq is much worse in western Wi. Near Millville. Wildfire smoke from Canada & northern Mn.

Unless the wind shifts, there will definitely be unhealthy air in the Rochester area for this weekend. The air quality up by me in north central MN is close to 500 aqi. I don't even want to walk outside. Sadly I will be now be missing Millvile as I have to fly to Texas for some work stuff.
Will they even run the race if AQI is over 200? Typically that has been the cutoff for almost ANY outdoor sporting event.
It's currently 218'ish there right now. Even if it get's down to the low 100's that's not going to be a good time for anyone, let alone the racers.
and if it gets cancelled do they reschedule?
We saw 350-ish AQI a couple years ago here during fire season and there's no way in hell I'd race in that. It was nasty just walking to the car. I can't imagine the damage you'd do to your lungs sucking that crap in for 30 + 2. Twice. Plus practice. AMA might have to make a tough call if they care at all about the rider's health and safety.
AQI got as high as 479 here, headaches all day even indoors with flirtation (OK maybe filtration, maybe both) on. It's gotten better in recent summers, but for several years straight it was ruining my riding season and I thought I was going to have to move.
Where is that?
Spokane, WA
As soon as I heard he was coming back this weekend as Millville, I wondered if he might have wanted to ride a Southwick last weekend but Ian Harrison asked him to sit out another round, with them having to tend to two extra bikes for the Coenen brothers.
This interview just about confirms this well may have been what happened.
I just hope Tomac can mix it up with the Lawrences...even if it is for only the first quarter of the race (like Deegan is doing right now).
But it's Eli...he could come out and win a moto tomorrow...or...he could come out and ride around in 10th...neither would surprise me.
I think you're tripping mate.
Did he go to Lars' barber?
Tomac said, "I'm at a place were doing another 30+2 is not going to do me any good." That means he's in shape, he feels good, and he still has the desire to see what that bike that he loves can do outdoors. Underestimate him at your own peril.
Hope you are right! He could battle at the front or be 7-10. I hope for the first, but would not be surprised either way.

Guess I actually know moto?
9-12 for 11th o/a.
I guess nobody of us does 😂
Definitely not what I was expecting considering what Eli said in the pre race interviews
I'm just so glad he's back.
He will be better as I think the results reflect a combo of not having the bike where he wants it (first year on the Katoom), not pushing past his comfort zone and also not trying to do anything stupid. I think the mission was to get out of this race unscathed and get a better feel for the bike.
Told ya' , 3rd behind Marchbanks...
🥲
38 down votes and I shot too high... 9-12 for 11th overall geeezusssssss... imma big et3 fan... but it's over...
He couldn't even beat a retired Tony...
After his interview yesterday I expected more from Tomac. Him getting passed by Benny Bloss and Tondel towards the end of the 2nd moto for 12th place was... surprising. I did look it up, he didnt make a mistake, his pace just dropped in the last laps. That was disappointing.
But its Tomac after all, he will do better than that sooner or later
I see my comment has aged very well...
Lars has the worst hairdo in the pits...followed closely by JT...
It was pretty obvious he would finish where he did. Perhaps you should base your takes on facts and reality rather than your fanboy feelings...
Well I didn’t think that went to plan… that was rough but only up from here!!! Hopefully lol
