Battles everywhere and we are struck on riders that they aren't even talking about! Zooming in so far you can't even see the battle, and then switching over last second to barely catch the pass made.  How, how is it so difficult with 5 ADHD announcers going non stop to be out done by Paul Mailin and MXGP?

A singular host is able to tell us more about the race, and view the actual racing more than this ignorant production that has been around forever.  Does Bondo simply not care? Or is he that inept that he can't freaking figure out how to actually showcase a race properly. Five freaking different people to talk about moto does zero good, when the cameras are on the wrong guy. Unreal

They constantly have pre canned storylines they want to talk about like it’s a soap opera and then whoever they decided deserves story time they just follow that rider around to make the story seem relevant: this is done regardless of if that riders shredding, in a battle, on the ground, out of the race etc lol.

They just talk like it’s a day time drama or a podcast rather than an actual race.

It is infuriating.

Mxgp treats it like formula 1

Ama treats it like it’s the Netflix drama show of formula 1

I rarely complain but there is too much jumping around from Stew to Jt to Katie.

Less talking would be nice

Oh well

Yeah for me it's a situation where I appreciate the idea of showing us more battles but they oftentimes just linger on one battle that isn't progressing at all while the other is significantly more heated. I do prefer this broadcast to the mxgp broadcast though (which I know I'm in the minority on, I just can't quite place why..it somehow feels more chaotic? Idk.)

The time between motos can (should) be used for discussing storylines,  instead we get fishing with Levy and dirt bath dunking with Katie.

Just imagine how little the people who made the trip to the track saw of the racing.

I am good as long as Carmichael isn't polluting the broadcast with his irritating nasal voice and endless taking. 🤮 The broadcast is 100% better without RC and I can watch the nationals WITH the sound on.

Cover the race. Do the prewritten monologues before the start.

And, cover the race.

The worst thing about this is that sometimes they just leave it on for like 5 minutes, they're trying to show two battles but it's so small that you can only see one rider per screen. Horrible, the design has to change or just get rid of it.

It's horrific. Not only are there four announcers, they all speak way too much - and often about rubbish. Focus on the race. Let some space into the commentary. Go watch boxing commentary for how it should be done.

At the end of the day,  too much split screen. And Katie is horrible.

Well, just now, MXGP totally missed Herlings' crash while coming back strong on Coenen because they were playing a start replay... which happened to be the MX2 start.

🤣

Yeah, as far as irritating voices go, we have enough with LewLew.

Even James and Weege were struggling to name the riders in the split screen because they are watching the same thing we are.  Too small!

I bet split screen wouldn't be as bad if it was one large box and one mini box. Or like how motogp does it where it has a "battle for x position" mini box built into the leaderboard. It'd still probably get abused but there's better options out there for sure

Enjoyed the racing, always do no matter what, but the production was noticeably bad yesterday.

Jason W was a great play by play announcer. He could call a race like few others. Now, he barely calls the action. And when he does it’s only for a few seconds and it’s off to story line management. You can tell he struggles with play by play now because it’s not what the production team wants. He has become a director of conversation rather than a true play by play announcer.

Agree that the split screen is way over used. As is the drone camera. Almost every pass they go to the drone camera. Yes, it’s cool to see the lines from above, but you don’t get the same feel as ground level or boom mounted cameras where the action is in your face and you get a sense of the speed, elevation change, roughness, etc.

Grateful for what we have, but the production needs some serious tweaking.

How many times per moto are we spending Katie and  Will blabbering about something other then the race. Concentrate on the race going on with JT trackside. Podium interviews and the same old bs i spoke with the mechanic or truck driver between motos

Yup. Also why on earth are 4 different people talking during one moto.

Another post that puts into words what I was thinking.

Weege was noticeably less apart of the broadcast this week and as you put it perfectly he was "a director of conversation". JT has said he likes that during the MX broadcast he has more time to elaborate on what he is trying to get across. But I find myself just tuning out at some point because there is so much chatter.

I also agree with your take on the drone footage. Split screen drone footage it takes me too long to figure out who is on what bike. What am I looking at I guess is what I am trying to say. My eyes darting back and forth between screens while the drone weeves all around.

Slightly off topic, but I can't believe it's 2026 and we still haven't got a replacement or solution for the loss of helmet cams during live broadcasts. I want to watch a rider carving through the pack from their perspective like I can in any other form of motorsport. Nothing makes you hold your breath or appreciate the fine margins and speed like an onboard camera when it comes to any form of two wheeled racing

And I agree, the forced talking points and overuse of double boxes/battle boxes is infuriating. The "battle box" just feels like a lazy excuse to watch 2 groups of riders with the drone rather than go out there and find the action with the better shots. We spend entire laps overseeing a battle for 6th and a battle for 4th overhead where it's all so zoomed out on the drone that I can barely see what I'm supposed to be watching anyway

Which is ridiculous in itself. The broadcast should be able to figure it out without needing GoPro, isnta360, etc.
