Crikey, he was missing his complete finger and could play guitar like an ace!
Jessy Nelson did pretty well with no left thumb.

Once knew a guy who lost 4 fingers and they amputated a couple of his toes to his right hand. Dude could rip pretty good.
That's right, impressive!!
My best friend was born with a condition called ectrodactyly, or split-hand malformation. We rode together growing up, I don’t know how he did it. Same with biking and baseball. The guy never mentioned it or said he couldn’t do something because of it, solid dude
Can't post a question like this without the story!
I pulled a rope cord to open a zip door at my work that I own while riding a mtb past just cruising and the rope quickly wrapped around my finger a pulled off the the first knuckle to tip a week ago.
I almost crashed but stopped abruptly and then went on all fours and said "F me" about 75x in pain. Amputated a little shorter to cover up and trying to heal now.
I've pulled the cord literally 1000's of times this way. So stupid! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Isn't Pat Foster missing a half of one and a tip of another
There was a guy in New Jersey back in the 1980's who had only a right arm with no left arm, I believe due to thalidomide poisoning . He made it to B class and would holeshot motos and finish top ten at Englishtown MX. You learned not to complain about anything after watching him.
That'll do it, heal up! Once it heals up you won't even know the difference after a little while
If I remember correctly, @Renner153 has his foot or lower leg amputated.
Used to be an active member here that had his foot amputated. Cant remember the name.
F me is right damn dude that sucks.😦
I have a carpenter / framer friend (figures right ?) who cut off his index and middle finger on his left hand right about the first knuckle. He holds on with the nubs and uses his pinky and 3rd finger on the clutch. He hauls the mail, you'd never know. Heal fast and Good luck !
Pretty sure that is Ricky Renner who is Ronne Renner's little brother.
Yessir. 3 years in. Riding is going well. Even had to pass the old bro Ronnie a few weeks ago 😜
Close. Ronnie’s youngest brother, Robby.
Pit Row
There was a guy here in Australia...Alan Kempster (he passed away a few years ago) who lost his right arm and leg after being hit by a drunk driver.
I don't think he did MX (could be wrong) but he did compete in road racing and even the Isle of Man TT.
Feel free to reach out if you need any advice or anything. I had my right foot chopped. It’s all a mindset. If you want to, you can.
Harold Glissen right?
25 years ago my brothers hand got between the sprocket and chain after crashing in the 1st turn. They tried to reattach them but it didn't take. He lost 3 fingers on his throttle hand. As soon as he was able to, he got back to riding his Harleys and probably logged 200k miles in the last 25 years.
No he was a stunt man or something to do with film making.
Didn't amputate it but crashed at Red Bud 1996 on the ski jump and ripped my middle finger off on my left hand (finger on the clutch) surgeries and therapy and I have a finger that wont bend. Took me awhile to get used to it but 30 years later is good. Still have odd issues
buddy of mine lost his middle finger from the lower knuckle up while under grounding drilling in the mines.
Used his pay out from injury to buy a new 450, he was back cutting laps within a few months.
he just brakes with a different finger and runs a hydraulic front brake, just to make life a little easier.
I remember him racing at Englishtown and he sure was fast. Much faster than me at the time. I may have an old picture laying around if I can find one...
As far as I know he wasn’t a stuntman but, you might be thinking of Chris Ridgway?
Yeah I believe that’s who I was thinking of
Tremendous, such a positive affirmation and attitude!
Yup that's him, Google his name to hear his entire story. He raced well into the 2000's and made it to the A class. Amazing story and a must see!!
Post a reply to: Has anyone here lost any digits and adapted to keep riding?
