I have a feeling Jett is even better in the sand than we’ve seen.  He spent a lot of time in Europe training and learning technique at Lommel.

I suspect we are going to see Lucas and Jett have a ding dong battle and leave everyone in their dust.

 

I'm so hyped for Southwick. You aren't wrong about Jett's sand prowess. He's always been dominating there. Since '22 he's dropped one moto there and that was '24 when he was dinged up after Hangtown. I'll be interested to hear Lucas's thoughts on the track

It's just the bed bugs huffing copium and the broadcast needing something to bang on about every week in the booth.

Just like the fact that he has finished 8 - 20 - 30 seconds behind Jett in the first 3 rounds and saying "he's getting faster every week".

And then we have Jett that is literally working around the challenge of riding with one leg taking most of the weight, a brake lever pointed up to the sky so he can reach it because his foot has zero degrees of movement, not riding press days, not riding during the week...and then somehow they reckon Whats-his-name needs multiple rounds to learn how to click third gear?

It's comedy but they are dead serious.

Both riders are not rookies, he is fine. He talks trash for marketing and it has made him millions. Do I like him no I don’t. But I respect his talent determination and work ethic.

Everything gets blamed on Brian.  What I see is a patient Dad who goes to every race, and sowed into his kids' lives for years.  Marissa is there often too.  What exactly do you have a problem with?  If my Dad was supporting me this way growing up, or even 20% as much, I would've love it.

Lots of people make money on YouTube.  Why is it bad for the Deegans to do it well?

I also see the 5 of them as a close knit family.  That says a lot.

If anything, they're setting a good example, Seriously.

all good and fine, but the character isn't there. example of good character wasn't set. he went to dazzy and told him it was all a schtick and it was all good between the families and dazzy told him to fuck off. authenticity matters, you know? 

johnny tomac, dazzy have character by all accounts. brian not so much. but hey, money is more important to some people, it is what it is.

Is it worth being hated by every rider on the track? You don’t think there is a reason for it? You don’t have to be friends but you also don’t have to be a d bag. I think about Millville first turn when Hymas was just putting his leg out like every rider does and deegan said he did it on purpose to take him out, which brought a lot of hate to Hymas

Let me preface this by stating that I’m not a fan of the Deegan circus.  That being said, if anyone is bummed out about getting smoked by Lucas while on holiday last weekend, it shouldn’t be the young guy who is 3 races into his 450 motocross career.  It should be the multi-time world champion who was sitting next to him under the orange awning and riding the same bike last weekend.

Southwick is similar to the most recent GP at Latvia, sandy but a bit solid underneath.  Lucas easily handled all the best GP riders there including sand specialists like Herlings and de Wolf.

I would expect Lucas to be better.   

  1.  He is in his second year in the 450 class 
  2.  He doesn't spend 7 months of the year training and racing Supercross

You are right in everything you said but you left out that Prado and Hunter were penalized for the same thing. Go ahead and say that they didn't do it as many times, they still did it and you failed to mention it .Lucas has had 10 wins in the 450 class since moving up  in 2025 . This is Deegs first season racing outdoors in the 450 class and he's sitting 3rd in the point standings. The Coenen Brothers are really fast  and I hate to say it but I think they could come here and win

I hope they do.  I want to see someone beat Jett so I don't have to watch everyone else race for 2nd place for the next 10 years.
