Wonder how Deegs feels knowing he got beat by Coenen let alone Jett

Younger than Deegs, first time in America, on a new to him KTM - USA chassis/engine spec and riding somewhat conservatively to protect his MXGP day job points leads.

Both Coenens were VERY impressive. And please don’t use the track shortcut penalty as an excuse. He clearly ran the markers over then said there weren’t any and cut it short. It was a huge time advantage that nobody else was using the entire race.

That can’t feel good for Deegs.

You must think of Deegan 24/7. Even dream about him 😴💤

Who knows.  He might not gain any speed, he might realise he can’t maintain the speed he’s been riding the last couple of rounds.  He might also improve but not enough to make a difference.

Outside of Pala, Lucas could be the first one to beat Jett. I actually think Hunter is taking a moto win at High Point, though

I’m most interested to see Southwick.  I know Lucas will be fast in the sand but Jett absolutely waxed everyone there last year; Tomac was 32 seconds back in both motos.

I have a feeling Jett is even better in the sand than we’ve seen.  He spent a lot of time in Europe training and learning technique at Lommel.

I suspect we are going to see Lucas and Jett have a ding dong battle and leave everyone in their dust.

Deegan is probably happy to get beat by Coenen and Jett,  it makes Deegan the underdog.

Metal Mulisha Inc knows how to market the underdog, that's what they do.  Add AMA penalties for the "bad boy" image and they continue down the familier path.

It got a little weird when Haiden was the silver spoon rich kid, but now that chapter is over and we're back to underdog status.

Marketing is way more important to them than race result because marketing hype pays better than the prize purse.

I deserved that. Pretty douchey thread title (and topic) in hindsight. Won’t be the first (or probably the last).

I think Deegan is pumped to see that he can be up front with both of those guys if for even a few laps. He’s got the drive.

Third is great for a rookie in the series, except for all the trash talking like he's going to crush everyone when he joined the class. That's what gets him all the hate. Alessi didn't really trash talk as much, but the "Believe the hype" stuff really brought him down.

That is how Deegan markets himself. Love it or hate it has made him millions in sponsorship deals. Look at this tread, sponsors  love this crap it keeps them in the lime light.
I do not really care for him for reasons that are some what out of his controll up intel he became an adult. His dad and mom are not what people would call role models as parents. They are successful but that does not male them good people. Bryan was fast enough to have a factory ride but his attitude made it so no team was willing to deal with him. Hayden with his talent and the way things are now this generation vers the generation Bryan raced in he gets away with it.

Maybe when Deegan finally wins a moto he’ll start crying like 800 did when he beat 2 in a heat race.

Which interview did Haiden say he was going to crush everyone ?

At first, I thought bedbugs were the Deeganites that jumped at every chance to defend whatever he says or does as the greatest of all time.
Now I’m starting to think it means the people that hate him  with a passion and have to call out every little thing like his fake patriotism and cutting the track 47 times in one Moto.

Either way, I predict Jet takes the title, but danger gets at least one if not multiple Moto wins before the end of the season. I could be wrong…

What’s up with this getting up to 3rd gear shit?  Is 2nd gear really all these guys get up to on a 450?  Or is Deegan the exception and still trying to ride the 450 like a 250?  That’s not a habit that a person can change overnight.

He has played on the 450 for years.  He rode WSX and basically had a whole off season(2 months), since Apr. 4th, on the 450 with only a couple of days back on a 250.  They bragged on how dialed he, and the bike, was.  That’s a lot of time on the seat of a 450… not overnight.

I'm so hyped for Southwick. You aren't wrong about Jett's sand prowess. He's always been dominating there. Since '22 he's dropped one moto there and that was '24 when he was dinged up after Hangtown. I'll be interested to hear Lucas's thoughts on the track

It's just the bed bugs huffing copium and the broadcast needing something to bang on about every week in the booth.

Just like the fact that he has finished 8 - 20 - 30 seconds behind Jett in the first 3 rounds and saying "he's getting faster every week".

And then we have Jett that is literally working around the challenge of riding with one leg taking most of the weight, a brake lever pointed up to the sky so he can reach it because his foot has zero degrees of movement, not riding press days, not riding during the week...and then somehow they reckon Whats-his-name needs multiple rounds to learn how to click third gear?

It's comedy but they are dead serious.

And we’re not even 1 month in to his 450 career 🤣

Both riders are not rookies, he is fine. He talks trash for marketing and it has made him millions. Do I like him no I don’t. But I respect his talent determination and work ethic.
