I agree. But the cutting out was in session one
Maybe he came in and they diagnosed it, thought they fixed it, and then sent him out for session two, which is when he crashed.
kind of like when a mech works on your car, thinks they fixed it, and sends you on your way. Only to find you still have the original problem.
Very good chance that sexton and Kawasaki are both correct. Sexton could have been late in the clutch pull or not pulled in enough. Both could cause the bike to stall and sexton to feel like he pulled in the clutch.
Did this weird one at Pala ever get explained?
This thread is absolutely insane.

Like I said in a previous post, how many times has everyone killed the motor upon entry into a corner?
Chase did it a few times in ‘23 while trying to get to Jett.
uh oh. this means someone is lying. more fissures in the team. who do you believe more? not sure myself
Question: do the factory teams run clutch sensors? if so, they'd be able to tell exactly how much clutch was engaged.....
Vialle got destroyed on here for doing exactly that
It looked like he didn’t pull in the clutch in Hopper’s video either
Chase has had the most bizarre incidents.. adding to those, he hit that stopped rider in the turn in supercross practice, I think he rode an extra lap in moto before(?), and I think it widely went unnoticed that he hit a cameraman after an sx race this season (although necessarily not his fault)
Where is this Fahie interview? I want to listen to it.
Even if he is right and totally over chase, most in his position would have enough sense to take the high road and not get in a back and forth through the media.
Here you go.

Thanks. Very curious if Fahie knew that was on the record? Almost seems like it was recorded with meta glasses.
Kind of an odd take. Didn't 100% say that was what happened just that it was logical and that they didn't find anything else, but if that's what happened, why the talk about the team taking mutual accountability? Also, if my boss called me moody for my reaction to that crash we'd have some serious problems.
I think they (Chase and Kawi) are well past just recognising they have serious problems.
I don’t believe anything he said in that interview personally. Kawi & Chase are over after that.
The issue isn’t whether anyone believes him (or Chase), it’s that they are both publicly saying contradictory things. That’s the real issue, regardless of who was “right”.
Once again, like his previous interview, I don't think Dan did himself or Kawi any favours by speaking.
Haven’t watched this one yet but the previous one was a bit of a train wreck
A good team manager would take it on the chin and deal with it in house. Not try throw his already struggling rider under the bus.
Pit Row
Go to the settings and slow this one down and you see that about 4 or 5 feet from landing he appears to move his shifter foot forward and tap downward....almost as if he was shifting down. But it doesn't make sense why he would do that.
After Prado last year, dude has to feel like he's on the ropes.
A bike that’s sputtering and a mid air brake tap sounds like a perfect recipe for stalling.
Still can’t believe the ineptitude of Kawi knowing this and allowing the rider to go out there. Chase could have seriously hurt himself. Sounds like Garrett was having a similar issue in moto 2. And they are being pretty hush hush about it.
I think we’ve seen the last of Chase and Kawi.
I was just thinking the same thing. The interview in Denver or Salt lake about whether Chase was racing outdoors. That was bad and this one is not much better
How to not ask open ended questions 101...
Unfortunately, Chase will never be happy wherever he goes.
Reminds me of an X gf, one that keeps on moving on and on and on and on.
According to the Vital Post Race Review, Marchbanks bike was also bogging/spluttering (40:45)
tip toeing in my jawwwdins.
So Chase says he did a brake tap and from the video you can tell the bike dies when he hits the rear brake. The question is why did the bike die when he hit the rear brake? Guess that’s where the he and the team disagree.
Pretty easy to see how a brake tap at the wrong moment on a sputtering bike could cause a stall. Maybe just using my brain too much.
Today we learned it takes a certain amount of common sense to maintain a career as an elite motocross racer.
Because it's probably not true...
