There are two schools of thought with racing at elevation. One is to show up a few days early to allow your body to acclimate. The second is to fly in as late as possible, race your race and fly out.
I don’t know how much I believe in the second method. Jason Anderson (who grew up in elevation) had issues with racing in elevation. He would do the last minute thing when doing elevation races and I don’t ever remember seeing any peak performance from him doing it.
Jason hasn’t lived at elevation for any length of time in well over a decade…
