WMX...does anyone know how fast these girls are?

6/6/2026 11:07am

Turner’s qualifying time would have put her in 57th 250 qualifying today.  Just over 11 seconds off Hammaker’s time.  Not too shabby!

Can your top local amateur A class riders in most states beat them? I raced Lisa Akin in 125 B class many years ago on her home track (Red Bud) and beat her easily. Not bragging just bringing perspective. I'm curious if anyone knows.

Lisa went DNF-21-6-5 for 12th overall in the 100cc class at the 1981 Red Bud Amateur Nationals. She was running 7th (best as I can recall) late in the first Moto when her bike expired otherwise she's an easy too 10. This was the last amateur national not held at Loretta's, was a precursor to Loretta's and the format adopted by them. I think this answers The question is to whether or not she might hang with local A riders - she ran well with the nation's best. She raced A classes, at a minimum, since 1981. If you raced her in 125B she'd been in her early teens.

I think Eric Sorby is training a couple of younger females. One of them beat all the boys at Loretta’s in the 50 or 65 class last year, there was probably some pretty pissed off dads in that class lol

Lol, the dislikes. How dare you find a woman attractive when she happens to do your favorite hobby professionally, is insanely fast at it and looks good on top of it? You sexist!

I'm not trying to downplay her achievements, she's great. It was either 1980 in 100b or I thought it was 1981 in 125b. 1979 I raced minis 1982 I did not race there. She wasn't 13 or 14 she was the same age as me 15 or 16 depending what year. That I know for sure. I should have just left her out of the discussion, as it doesn't really matter. It's just hard to tell on T.V. how fast they are.

Some of them are gonna be mid pack regional B speed some will walk away from most your local A riders.

Their speed varies alot but there all pretty fast no matter what.

If you just watched that moto and still think these girls aren't as fast as you, then you should be racing pro, because those girls were hauling.

Should be able to tell today. If they post the finishing positions with lap times.

Jumping that fly 150 triple was very impressive.

It would be cool to add Guillen, Fontanesi, Duncan, and Van Drunen to this field.

They’re all badass. I’d like to see some of the MXGP WMX women come over and see how they stack up.

I still remember Courtney Duncan absolutely demolishing the field on a YZ125

Van Drunen could come soon. Her world title is already lost anyways, she'd sure like a bit of fresh air...

Thanks! A few seconds faster than I estimated. I was thinking about 2.10

Charli's fast lap was faster than 2 guys' fast laps in 250 moto 2, Lachlan was faster than 1.

Brandy Richards puts absolute belt to ass at the gncc morning moto. I mean last year she won the whole chicken at Ironman over dudes like Nicoletti. Granted that’s in the woods with a first row start.

mayla herrick just qualified for Loretta’s in schoolboy 2, which is nuts. She can’t race WMX yet cause she’s not old enough.
