So Swap Moto reporting Justin Cooper back with Star in 2027.

Seems the first domino to fall in the 450 class for 2027.

I saw that as well.  If true, the silly season has begun and it will trigger more soon.

Eli gone, Webb gone, Star has enough rubles to make JC32 smile. Good for him !

One year deal again. He must really not want to change bikes.

Another 1 year deal definitely seems like a kick in the nuts for him. But maybe it's a good thing. The fact is, a lot of the factory contracted riders really have to be nearing retirement. It wouldn't be a surprise to see 3,4, or even 5 dudes retire at the same time. If that happens, all of the manufacturers will be rolling out the red carpet for him.

Good for J-Coop, he's the most underrated rider in both series.

What do you think he gets base from Star? $1.2m

I'll go as far as to say J-Coop is the top placed Star rider at the end of the MX season

5th overall in SX, not having to worry about webb next year as a teamate, but Jett and Deegan will be there, assume Sexton will be better. Another 5th would be pretty good.

He seems to be very consistant.

This is really smart. Kenny, Eli, Barcia, Mookie all might be at the finish line after 2027. Another good season on star for J Coop could set a nice multi year contract for 28 onward

Educated guess,  under a million.

JC will likely ride/ finish no better than this past year. He can follow HD around now instead of CW... if he does stay at Star. Has talent but not enough killer instinct. Has a good bike, but think I would go elsewhere to avoid continuing being the second banana.

I recall last year in an interview he was very evasive on his 1 year contract extension salary, was much more concerned about the bike and team than the money. I would expect that was the same this year. He just hasn't broken through to consistent podium threat.

If he would have passed Webb in Denver instead of pull back I think that might have changed his valuation. No way Deegan gives Webb (or anybody) that much time without an aggressive pass attempt.

Top 5 MX and SX 450 rider and under $1m would be rough, I remember KTM bumped Marvin down to $800k and he retired instead of taking that.

Don't know if he'll beat Danger Boy.

But he'll definitely beat Fat Boy...

I reckon he will beat Danger Boy.

I reckon Fat Boy beats Danger Boy, he's carrying a lot of condition into the outdoors, it will play into his favour come the end of the season.

Deeg’s most recent video has nothing but praise for J-Coop…as a team-mate and training partner.

I get the feeling he’s staying.

Sometimes a change of scenery can be good, but I think Jcoop staying at Star makes the most sense. Triumph 450 is still unproven, Ducati same, Kawi seems to be having tough times, and KTM seems to be difficult for someone to gel with that hasn't rode those frames in the past. Also, I don't think Jcoop has any issue training with Deegan or being around that since he doesn't care about the limelight, Deegan was in the 450 truck this whole year so he knows what to expect.

Justin Cooper seems to always have the speed but lack the fitness. Late in the moto he would always end up pulling over and letting Jett, Chase, or Hunter right by him without a fight. I hope to see him actually battle for position late in the moto this year.
