Just checked all the mainstream sports coverage looking for some news (other than NBC) on Kenny’s historic and emotional win/story and couldn’t find any.

Bums me out to think sports news directors wouldn’t see this as something their viewers may  enjoy and be surprised at…and smile.

Again, makes ya realize how small our sport is.

But, that’s ok…we’ll keep it.

Unfortunately for us, Supercross probably has fewer people that follow it than Women’s Collegiate Rowing. It’s huge to us, but not even a blip on everyone else’s radar.

Unless I'm missing it, I find it odd that Red Bull hasn't posted something. I vaguely recall that he is their longest sponsored athlete? Even if he isn't, he's been with them for like 15 years.

Edit: ...and they have posted to their socials as of 40 minutes ago.

As I surround myself with parents of my kids friends who are all stick and ball sports fans… their view of our sport is really eye opening.

They barely know the difference between bmx, freestyle mx, monster trucks and moto. Talking to them… it’s all part of the same package. I gave up some time ago.

Mainstream sports sites don't cover motorsports at all unless they're broadcast on their network.

Once you understand who the mainstream media really serve it's a good thing, it's in a pretty good place as it is as far as the pro series go.

Yeah, at 51 I’ve learned to not even tell people that I ride any more. Either ask the same thing, or tell me I’m too old🤣

Most love stick and ball sports, many of whom never even participated in them to any large degree which continues to baffle me throughout life.

Mainstream wont cover this side of sports due to them not being popular enoug  with the idiots whose entire lives revolve around their sport teams.

If it weren't for SX/MX I wouldn't watch any sports other than the college golf tournaments my friend plays in twice a year.

Its the distraction to keep people's eyes off problems created by government. Nobody really gives 2 shits who wins the Super Bowl or World Series

Then at work the next day,"we won last night".  Shake my head.

Story like this isn't for the mainstream, you have to be a moto guy to get it. This ones for us.

Who cares about the circus? Why would they cover it? "Today in the traveling circus, claw boy did a backflip!"

I hope someone completely unrelated to the sport gets ahold of this story and can make a proper doc/movie about it. FELD would completely fuck it up even though it's a perfect comeback story. Kid from Germany races his way to the US, becomes the prospect, gets a life changing injury that doctors say he'd be lucky to write his name again, signs to an unproven team with a dated bike, team manager gets cancer and WINS after a decade of trying.

Thank you for your art. I'm a big fan.

Curious, How many people watched it live last night?  I'm sure not many compared to stick and ball sports.

But who cares, SX/MX is what we love and it and it's  participants kicksss.

It don’t matter.

No one that doesn’t follow this sport will be able to understand what last night means.

Us who follow the sport do.  Thats what matters most.

Exactly why I don't talk about MX with anyone other than my buds or my brothers who are true fans and enthusiasts. Once in a while I will run into someone that is a fan and will discuss with them, but talking about MX with people like the ones you mention is a big waste of time.

Every time the Lawrence's have won titles it's made mainstream news here in Australia, and moto here is tiny compared to the States.

I wonder if media in his home area in Germany will pick it up?

I've been told that before. You should see the look on their faces when I pull up a screenshot of my heart rate over 3 hours 45 minutes from a GNCC 🤣

Yeah I've seen some german media already post about it here but this here is usually the amount of effort they put into sport news that isn't soccer. And that isn't a joke, that's all the text Kenny got from the East German Media. And some people get paid for this btw.

Good. Mainstream coverage of this sport would ruin it. We're better off.

Exactly what Stephon posted also,  and he knows the entertainment/broadcast media world better than anyone.

My local new channel showed some race highlights of Webb after Denver. I thought that was pretty cool.

I’ve had so many odd moments when I ask grown men

“If you like basketball so much why don’t you play yourself?”

Golf seem to have a high player/viewer ratio too.
