Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
All of this goes to show what a massive fuckwit Brian Deegan is
I'd do the same thing, I don't need a trophy!
Delivered with Clear title? Who brings their title with to the races? Not to mention, the bank has the title of half the bikes at the track.
Nothing stopped him from going through with it.

On the other-hand…
If someone wanted to claim your 2026 Husky 450 Rockstar Edition for 50% over retail..?
you also have to be racing the class in order to claim a bike. you can't just go claim someone's bike at a race if you aren't racing the same class.
Why is he such a fuckwit motokiwi? He did what he had to for his son. I’d say more blame goes to the team & Yamaha for that while incident, it was their bike after all….
Davey Coombs and his clan of cohorts was more of the problem than Deegan.
If you have to cheat for your son, you are letting him down. Im sure Brian didnt insist they have a factory engine. Im super sure of that. Woudlnt be like him at all.
Moto dads have been cheating since the beginning of time…. You obviously have an axe to grind with Brian. You’re speaking as if you know all of this to be fact.
If it wasn't fact why would they pressure Schofield to drop it?
But you signed where it said: “I have read, understood and agree to the rules”
But the rules don’t apply to you huh?
No one’s arguing that… im just saying you are speaking as if you know without a doubt it was all Brian’s call to run a factory engine and strong arm the kid into dropping the claim. I would have thought Yamaha and star racing would have been making those calls - Brian is just a “fuckwit” after all.
It shows what kind of person you are when you cut someone down because of their place of employment or job title.
Yep. What’s the purpose?
It's to help keep costs down.
It's a little less appealing to spend thousands of dollars on a bike when you know that you could take a bath on it with a claim.
Does anyone have firsthand experience with having their bike claimed?
*May not apply if at Loretta's or if MX Sports decides to run interference on the claim to protect their friends. Also may result in harassment in the pits by former mediocre pro's turned Mini Dad turned Social Media influencers and the end result may be a blackballing of any future sponsorships.
But you're welcome to try!😂
Pit Row
My wording might be a bit harsh. But there is no way it wasn't Brian's call. He is deep with the team. MM sponsored them way back in the day I'm sure whatever Brian wants, Brian gets
Any bike can be claimed.
*Terms and conditions may apply.
** Does not apply to Star Yamahas.
Oh ease off the virtue signaling. If that is how you interpreted it then maybe you are the problem. I’d kill to go stock shelves at Costco
Doubt hardly any bikes at Loretta’s are financed. Definitely not 50%
All the kids parents with 5 plus bikes for their kid are not financing bikes.
May have a second mortgage on the house though lol
There was no other interpretation to made.
I sure hope nobody claims my 2015 YZ250 with 400+ hours that’s been through two hard enduros, a handful of EX races, a bunch of motocross races, a few amateur SX races, and an untold number of practice days for over MSRP, that would just be a huge bummer.
You would be greatly surprised. Have you ever been to LL? Very limited number of kids with 5+ bikes at the same time.
Ya, my kid races 85s. We’ve been to Loretta’s 4 times so far. At an area this weekend.
I’m saying most these kids my kids races against have several bikes. When we go to Loretta’s we just bring two though.
We have 7 85’s at the moment. All cheaper used bikes, I’m not loaded. Need a lot to train and race and always have bikes ready.
That kid of yours is the holeshot king. Did he start up front every moto at spring a ding. If he could keep it on 2 wheels. He has the speed for sure.
I’m pretty sure that whatever you do for a living must not involve a lot of attention to detail. The way the rule is written, you’d need to pay $9,149 for the hypothetical RM250 you are using as your example.
Read the last 4 words of the sentence.
"Or Bill of sale"..... yeah, because the bank that owns the bike and has the legal title won't care if you sell it in a claim and give it away with a bill of sale.
