We have had issues with both mechants shipping with USPS and other smaller carriers such as Doordash. To the point where we have requested on multiple occasions both companys not ship with either if its linked to our email or address. They have told us its flagged accordingly multiple time, to no avail. No issues with Fed EX or UPS, with both usually arriving in less then two days from either company.
In the past, they have both worked with us to resolve shipping a new order (no new charge) and sending a postage paid shipping lable back to us in case the original order ever came in. In fact, just last week Motosport did this and sure enough the original order came in several days after the make up order and we promptly shipped it back to them using their lable. They get there mechindise back and we are only charge once and didnt have to wait around for a refund.
So we call RMATV today regarding an order that has been sitting in Kentucky for 6 days now. Clearly there is a problem, as it hasnt even left the warehouse state after a week. Customer service lady was very nice but would only allow us to re-order and return the original order to them for a refund (if it ever came in). So, should it be lost forever we would be paying for the same order twice without ever seeing our money again. Asked to speak with a supervisor. Nice CS lady puts us on hold and after 8 minutes, came back and said they Supervisor didn't want to speak with us and that he did not change their position. I can somewhat respect if the supervisor talks to us and holds their position (somewhat, but would still disagree since we pay twice for same stuff). But I have no respect for a supervisor that doesn't even have the courage to disuss the issue with us and nor even willing to listen to a suggested resolution. It show a lack of compassion for their customers and frankly a lack of training. If Motosport price matches we will re-order from them and simply cancel with RMATV. We are done with them.
So moral of this story is 1) use Motosport, their customer service and problem resolution has simply been better over the long haul. Case in point this week, they didn't make us pay twice for their poor choice of shipping agents. 2) when placing online orders understand that they are often defaulting to USPS or some other carrier such as Doordash (of all things) even if they have told you they will not, 3) better to call in the order and specially instruct the saleperson each time to use wither Fed EX or UPS. Perhaps you have a different perspective and maybe the shipping tips help someone. Companies need to step up when their low cost chaioce of shippers hurts their customers.
Interesting. Being in SoCal I assume my orders come from Utah. It's been a while but I got most of my deliveries from On Trac which people in other parts of the country hate.
Orders come from wherever the stock is. If they have it in multiple locations it will come from closest warehouse to the destination.
Yes ontrac sucks. I used to deal with it all the time and would just send customers a new order if contract fucked up the delivery.
Exactly, thats what they typically did and we would send mech back if it ever came in. Now customer is expected to "eat it" because of their shipper.
You sound like the kind of customer that they are better off without.

I mean just trying to provide professional feedback without overtly bashing and provide some tips to help others.
But if you want a second opinion you could certainley talk to your mom, she might have a different opinion.
Does your delivery address have conflict with others that are similar in name in the system? Are you located out in the sticks? I live rural and order from rmatv all the time without problems. Often my orders arrive within 2 days.
Who has the best discount & when is the big spring savings sale ? I get oem parts from Service Honda they hv the best prices. I bought a lot of stuff from Motorsport & some from Rmatv . Like the Tusk case splitter & crank puller , tires, etc. Both co.s seem good to me.

That's our experience when they use Fed Ex or UPS, but anyone else if goes to heck.
Who is the carrier that typically delivers to you? Were somewhat in the sticks, relatively speaking. Also are you calling in your order or ordering online?
In my experience RMatv has the quickest shipping - So quick I am often surprised how fast the orders arrive (even on Sunday’s). I used to order everything from Motosports but almost 90% with RMatv now. Throw in the fantasy bucks and I see no reason to shop elsewhere..(except in cases where they don’t carry certain brands)..
Even the Ontrac has been reliable..
As mentioned above- is there something unusual about your location?
No it appears to be related to the shipper. UPS of Fed EX, two days maybe three. USPS or Doordash who know if it ever shows up.
I will echo the speed and excellence of service from Rocky Mountain. I have ordered from others, but none could match the overall ease of RM.
Having used them in over 10 bikes for restoration efforts for the last 6 years or so. I simply wouldn’t consider anyone else unless RM doesn’t stock it.
Never an issue with shipping.
Generally fedex but I get deliveries from usps and ontrac as well. Orders are made online, I’ll communicate with a rep if there’s something specific needed.
I ask about the address because I once had a business address in a multi unit that was riddled with delivery issues because of an adjacent street with similar name. Seemed like we always had the wrong packages or ours would end up elsewhere. It got to the point where we built relationship with a couple others solely because we would bring them their packages and vice versa.
If RMATV ships fed ex, I get it next day. When they started using ontrac, it’s about a week as it doesn’t get picked up right away and travels all over Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio before coming back to Kentucky to my house. Motosport went to door dash and have same kinds of issues. And sometimes find packages on my deck, at garage, etc. I have actually started using Amazon for stuff I need right away, sometimes even from RMATV as they sell on Amazon too and I get it overnight or the next day at latest.
I do the same thing. Specially if I just need one part, I get it from Amazon.
DoorDash does deliveries now? I mean I thought that was just for getting groceries and food. Either way can’t blame either company the issue lies with whoever the shipping service is.
Thats what we thought the first time. Doordash WTH! PS they suck at parcel delivery.
Intersesting on going thru Amazon. Might have to explore that. Appreciate the new perspective.
Weird, I’ve been ordering from RM for a really long time and never had any issues. Every time there was a mix up (which is extremely rare) they’ve always gone above and beyond to correct it. The RM cash/fantasy cash is pretty sweet too. I had over $140 in RM cash and used it on my order a few weeks ago when I bought a new winch for my UTV and a few other things. Free money is pretty sweet.
Post office is on the verge of collapse again. Ups and fed ex will be moving thier work soon enough.........again.

I call bs on the cs agent you talked to at rmatv. You got the old let me put you on hold while I pretend to talk with my manager routine. Then come back and double down on what I said.
This is an old trick you shouldn't have accepted that without talking to the manager. And made the agent get the manager on the line.
If I was you I'd call back and speak with a different agent and go from there. Half the time your not speaking with or to the manager. Just a senior level rep who has more authority like a lead.
I've never had a company expect me to pay for an item that did not arrive. Of course I suppose all of my items have arrived so I don't know. RMA TV used to have a lot bigger stock, thats for sure.
I never got bad service from OnTrac but like I said, it's been a while.
Same here. All of my shit from Rocky Mountain gets delivered by OnTrac. Never really had a problem with them.
I'm in warehousing and I'll try to explain away your frustration.
1. There are times when an order is placed against product that shows available but actually isn't when a picker gets to the location. We then look in the system and see when it is due to arrive at warehouse. If it's due in a couple days, leave the order open and once product is received in we will pick and ship. This isn't the best for the customer but sometimes shipping is upgraded to make up for the delay, depends on the vendor and how they want to handle it.
2. An order can be picked, packed and go through the ship station but somehow gets misplaced i.e. falls off a cart or pallet, new employee fails to get it to the correct staging lane for FedEx or UPS.
3. Order makes it to the staging lane but the carrier fails to pick up. This has become more and more common with the mindset of today's small parcel carrier employees. They're running behind, don't want to get back to the hub late and either don't pick up at all or only pick up what is clearly marked without asking or looking to see if there is more to pick up.
In scenarios two and three, tracking info will be available but the customer is still WTF'ing us for 2-3 days before they see any movement. Sometimes it's our fault and sometimes it's not.
Those packages that ship USPS or DoorDash are most likely not the fault of RMATV. It's the vendors choice on how they want to ship and if they are a smaller vendor, they have probably gone with the shipper that costs the least. They can't make much profit paying $18 to ship a $22 part.
Go easy on that supervisor, he's been given a small team of 18-22yr olds who make $18/hr to process 3-4K orders per day. Some days they all show up, sometimes half of them show up. Turnover is high and training new employees for accuracy and speed takes time. The poor fucker was probably about at his wits end for the day and one more customer call could result in one less customer forever. Trust me, he took the high road by not taking the call.
I order from both RM and Motosport. Delivery times from both are kinda a crap shoot. Some orders are delivered next day other times it's over a week. My last RM order shipped with Amazon? First time I had seen that.
I can't say I have ever had an issue with either.
I've had many issues with both. It's a crap shoot.
Most recent was a starter sprag ordered from RM. A small enough part, they decided to ship USPS. It took 3x longer to arrive than usual, so I missed that weekends ride. Then on top of that, the part was defective, and I had to reorder.
My plan from here on out is to make sure the order contains something large enough so that it won't fit in a small USPS package.
Another one that pisses me off is when the box shows up with barely any packing tape, and multiple small parts have fallen out the gaps.
I've noticed that if I toss in some filter spray or chain lube or oil it wont ship USPS. I've had good luck with this.
Lack of American trucking co.s left , most went out of business. I had an order from MotoSport show up every week for 3 weeks. No big deal I don’t wait until the last minute. There Awesone & hv parts in stock for my 04 cr125.
i have nothing to say but great things about RMATV. All the great things they do to support MX and they have been good to me for over 10 years. I won't use anyone else.
Perhaps RM views the OP as a high-maintenance entitled consumer. All businesses have these - some need to keep them, some don't...
