I thought Yogi (Ezra Lusk) and Albrecht were in charge of these calls, like its so god damn bananas.

Its worse this year than ever before. They made the worst 2 calls in history w/ the red lights, no action on lappers, then extreme action on an aggressive pass IN AN LCQ FOR FINAL TRANSFER. Not to mention deegan HAVING A WIN TAKEN AWAY for hitting a track marker 2 feet into a split lane (which is a dumb rule to start with).

The entire AMA rules enforcement crew needs a complete rebuild, they can't even be consistent with their lack of enforcement its insane.

Maybe having ex racers and industry insiders with 30 years of relationships in the paddock trying to enforce rules isn't the best route to go (which should be obvious).

the split lane rule is not dumb.  if it weren't in place everyone would just go inside inside.  You can argue whether split lanes are dumb or not, but not rule on staying in a lane once you've committed to it.

Yeah I mean I wont die on the hill I get its purpose, I dont like split lanes altogether. They hardly ever work out to make the racing better.

Yeah the rule has to be concrete, doesn’t matter if you even clip the first one, this is where the line is, the only problem we have is that they are so inconsistent on basically every other call they make. There’s no consistency in the enforcement of the rules! I think the fact like someone else mentioned is correct, the rule enforcement has long standing relationships in the pits. Can never be a fair game

Absolutely not a bad move from Ferry.  A lap before that I thought he was going to be in the main two weeks in a row.  The AMA needs to be drug tested.

I’ve made gnarlier passes for 4th in Vet Sportsman

Yeh looks live Evan went across 3 ruts before contact was made though. Have a look at the tyre tracks he left across the ruts.

Anyone else remember Atlanta with Reed and James Stewart? Or was that RC? 😂

Reed and James. Reed took them both down and dropped a gift basket into RV's lap, as he squirted by both of them for the win

AMA is a joke. They do nothing about Friese/ Moranz, take a bunch of shit for it then way over correct the next weekend.

Right, crazy overcompensation after taking all kinds of heat the past two weeks.

Bad decision by Ferry, he wasn’t close enough in speed or position to make that happen. It showed when he took himself out trying it.

That said I don’t agree with the penalty from it.

Tomac vs Cooper comes to mind, no penalty for the same exact thing.

That penalty is insane for what the "offence" was. Time to demand some accountability by the people at the AMA. Way too many crazy decisions and non-decisions, there needs to be a shakeup. Just like there was in MotoGP a few years ago when the FIM stewards with  Freddie Spencer was let go because of the multitude of shitty decisions.image 2752.png?VersionId=q4zBDEX

Exactly, and then detonated in the LCQ. Not smart.

My uneducated conspiracy theory?

The AMA have been talking about integrating steeper penalties into the sport for aggressive riding but know damn well they can't START imposing said penalties that would have negative championship penalties.

AMA chose Ferry to show everyone else "SEE! WE MEAN IT" knowing that five points/license points would hurt only Ferry. They made an example out of him

I have always been one to give the benefit of the doubt to the AMA, knowing that behind the scenes there is a lot that we don't see.....that benefit has gone out the window over the last year and is not coming back anytime soon.

One difference is Deegan takes their front wheels our, where Ferry had left Brown enough room that Brown could have prevented the crash if he'd have braked.

These types of penalties tend happen when the aggressor goes down too. It somewhat signifies that they could not make the pass cleanly, therefore making it "dirty".

It doesn't help that he crossed a bunch of ruts in the attempt.

Don't get me wrong, I'd let it fly... Just pointing out how these things have gone in the past (sometimes).

According to some in the Night Show Bench Racing thread J Coop actually hit Tomac.  The blind fandom is unreal.

For the record I don't think anyone should have gotten penalized from what I saw.

Would he have been penalized if he didn't take himself out too?

I see Jbone on the list but what about Yogi?  Is he somehow considered a different division or has he left the AMA?

Also,  Willy Browning went to that "motocross manager" position last year. Is Willy involved with pro side of things or just amateur?

With 3 ex-moto pros in these positions , you'd think the AMA could get all the excrement in one bag.

This was a call so bad that I’d only expect it from the AMA. It’s nothing personal as I don’t know these dudes, but it’s time to clean house and start over. Inexcusably bad judgment, once again.

No issue with the Deegan call.

He almost made the pass work too, was close. Had he not gone down himself does he still get  penalized?

like someone else said, he must have pissed someone off, maybe dicked down one of the AMA officials daughters or something. If not, racing is about to get real lame….
