Cole Davies whoops speed crazy data (!!!)

Edited Date/Time 2/24/2026 8:34am

The sector 7 included the whoops section in Arlington, and we can mathematically compare Cole's speed to the other competitors over the course of the round.

Practice 1 :

5.863 = Cole Davies
+0.313 = Cade Dudney
+0.341 = Malcolm Stewart
+0.342 = Dylan Ferrandis
+0.387 = Pierce Brown
+0.411 = Jordon Smith
+0.436 = Garrett Marchbanks
+0.465 = Hunter Lawrence
+0.503 = Ken Roczen
+0.516 = Justin Hill

Practice 2

5.981 = Cole Davies
+0.070 = Jordon Smith
+0.163 = Ken Roczen
+0.246 = Hunter Lawrence
+0.248 = Jason Anderson
+0.256 = Drew Adams
+0.315 = Cade Dudney
+0.371 = Dylan Ferrandis
+0.373 = Garrett Marchbanks
+0.380 = Malcolm Stewart

Heat races (the whoops evolved but still...)

5.790 = Cole Davies
+0.267 = Malcolm Stewart
+0.301 = Seth Hammaker
+0.311 = Cade Dudney
+0.313 = Ken Roczen
+0.369 = Nate Trasher
+0.491 = Jason Anderson
+0.504 = Joey Savatgy
+0.515 = Jalek Swoll
+0.538 = Christian Craig

Main event

5.843 = Cole Davies
+0.427 = Ken Roczen
+0.503 = Eli Tomac
+0.555 = Malcolm Stewart
+0.573 = Hunter Lawrence
+0.668 = Cooper Webb
+0.679 = Jason Anderson
+0.718 = Dylan Ferrandis
+0.722 = Derek Kelley
+0.753 = Seth Hammaker
+0.775 = Joey Savatgy
+0.837 = Pierce Brown
+0.857 = Cade Dudney
+0.891 = Drew Adams
+0.907 = Justin Cooper
+0.930 = Jo Shimoda
+0.951 = Jordon Smith
+0.957 = Daxton Bennick

The gap between him and the rest grew bigger at the end of the night while the whoops started to get rough.

He is the only rider during the entire night that went under the 6 seconds mark, and he did it at least once every time he was on track.

Craziest stat : he was faster in that sector at the end of the night during the main event than any 450 riders during practice 1 when the track was cleaner.

Is it safe to assume the whoops in 250 racing are much better than they are hy the time the 450s get on track? It makes this data a bit picking and choosing.

Not taking away from the fact the kid is a freak in whoops, but it's not comparing apple to apples.

sure I guess they are worse at the end of 450 main, but he was blitzing with crazy speed in the last laps of 250 main so you cant say "its just because he had better whoops" when they were beat from both LCQs and a full 250 main

We were sitting right at the entry of the whoops and Davies whoop speed was just jaw dropping every single lap. No one else was even close!

You're right. But in the mean time and like I said, his fastest sector during the final was faster than anyone during time practice early on.

His main event sector time was faster than any 450 on a fresh track in practice. Crazy stuff

He genuinely might be the most natural whoops talent I've seen since JS7

I remember seeing Cole last year at A1 during qualifying. I saw (heard him first) some triple digit absolutely rail a corner and also noticed his whoop speed. Come to find out it was some kid from New Zealand I hadn’t heard of. The kid definitely has it and is a bad man!

He looks better than last year. Barring injury he will be on 450s in 2 years. He looks like he added a lot of muscle in the off-season too.

Once he got a clear track when he got into 5th he gained like 5 seconds on the leaders. Kids a freak and it will be fun to see how he does this year.

I believe that of all the new kids on the block, Cole is the guy to most likely to give Jett something to think about in the 450 class.

The thing is they’ll waste him in the 250 class unless he moves up. He could do 2-6 years in the 250s when it’s clear he has the skills already. Do this year and next year at most, and be in the 450s already.

I agree on his skill set, but he needs to put it together by winning a title or two before moving up. Without the titles, he won't get the support and pay his talent deserves.

He had the speed consistently even coming through the pack. He had the fastest average time out of both main events. He averaged 6.617 while Roczen was second best with an average of 6.769

Davies makes me wonder how he and Deegs might run against each other if Star had them racing on the same coast.

Barring injury he is going to win 250 this year and next and then he has to move up.

I was thinking that he does like deegan.

This full year where he's at.

Next year, 250sx, then bump up for outdoors.

That is if he stays healthy, and can pull off a title or two.

He's damn sure fun to watch.

I sincerely believe he is another generational talent; his last to 5th on that nasty, rutty track was something to behold.  He's going to be the heir apparent to Jett a few years down the road.

It’s pretty impressive to come from last to 5th and only be 13 seconds down to the leader at the end. Usually a ride like that the rider is somewhere between the 20-30 seconds behind the leader.

He went by Drew Adams so fast in the whoops you would have thought he was a lapper. I said, dear god. Kid is something special

He’s already moving up and giving Jett a run before a single 250 win? Let alone a season under him? Let’s see how this season plays out. Amazing ride last night but that’s all.

YUP! at A-1 in 2025 myself and a group of friends sat in the stands by the whoops and watched Davies just destroy the track during the daytime practice sessions..

The young man is absolutely going to win some titles here soon enough...

We're calling for a 450 outdoor season before he's completed one season on a 250?  Vital math.

Kid rips, no doubt, but can someone please tell the guy to stop with the weird tongue thing? End of his interview, straight faced, plops the tongue out for half a second before it disappears like a damn lizard. It's gross.
