I'm not entering into this 'Hate' session - I just want confirmation on  who was the rider of the Fuel Injected CRF150 project that was around for a while.

 Who was it?

I think it was 'Paul' Webb, but, at the same time, I think I'm wrong.

The crf150 was built to compete with 85s and then not allowed to — shows honda doesn’t have the sway we all thought — so Factory Connection, in order to provide a pathway to the pro ranks did the best they could.

At one time 125 2 strokes were considered competitive with 250 four stroke, there’s no way a 150 four stroke could compete with a 112 2 stroke.  it’s really the best they could do.

AMA should have lowered to 85cc four stroke limit to 125cc and lifted the super minis four stroke to 175cc.

In the rest of the world the crf150 race in the 85cc class (and as far as I know it’s more or less just US that race super minis).

So unfortunately the 150 got a bad rep in the US competing at a unfair power to displacement disadvantage against the super minis while in Europe most of the fastest ”85 riders” rode them for many years.

I just wish that they would update that bike with EFI and a E start to make it more attractive again since no development has been done since it was released in almost 20 years ago.

Good, so it's not just me cringing everytime they come up with a "we didn't have money back then" rider story. I was also very fortunate to grow up riding and racing dirt bikes as a kid and I've seen all kind of families. Some families for sure make more sacrifices than others, no question about it. But if you can afford going riding or to races every weekend, you're not BROKE. In some rider segments they make it sound like they had to grow up in slums

There was a segment with Webb during the broadcast that made me roll my eyes so hard, where he was talking about how little he had growing up and if he didn't make it he'd have to go work at a surf shop (owned by his parents.)

If motocross was as accessible as football is Jett would be getting lapped. Every rider that is out there would not be there if they didn't have rich parents that supported their careers.

Webb was hand picked by American Honda to be the face of their CRF150 and they even got him exhibition races in front of the entire industry at pro nationals under the guise of the "CRF150 Cup". He rode for American Honda and was a Red Bull JAMS racer for 4 years before signing with Rockstar Star Yamaha to transition to big bikes and then the pros. 99.9% of prospective racers would give their left nut to have his "struggles." I'm sorry he was consistently beat by AC but this is why some people to this day don't like him. He's the Baker Mayfield of motocross, always addressing the non-existent non-believers and haters.

Mcadoo is just such a good person, hopefully gets a win here soon. Pretty telling when none of them congratulate Deegan after the race. They all hate him! And before all you Deegashian nut swingers come at me its not because he is fast its because he is a knob

Are you thinking about Mcadoo here, or just all consumed with Deegan? Feels like you started to try and make a thread about something else, but only made it 1 sentence.

I’m in the camp of I’d rather not hear either of them on the podium. They’re both cringey for different reasons. On a side note I find myself completely tuned out on 250s this season so far. It’s not even just that one guy is running away as much as it’s just kinda boring all the way through the pack. Or at least what’s been televised anyway. Feel like the  East/West split has run its course. I’d much rather see the best on 250s race every weekend.

100%! I don’t even watch the 250’s anymore. It could also

Be that the 450’s are that good too!
Some of the best racing action in years that I can remember.

Are you sure that's all he cares about? It seems like he cares about the attention and emotional response based on all his antics. If the dude just put his head down and raced he'd have a lot more fans. Instead he's busy lashing out on social media leaving controversial comments he knows is gonna bring attention and discussion. Uploading pics to social media that'll offend his competition and fans to get that emotional response and have all eyes on him. He operates under the policy any publicity is good publicity for his brand so let's create drama and controversial things to bring in more eyes. I mean, his dad is busy arguing with strangers on social media comments cuz it emotionally affects him so much. To say he only cares about winning? His actions prove otherwise.

He's fast. I'm sure he cares about winning. But he also cares about drumming up controversy and starting drama and in the process you lose respect from your competition. Which is fine, not everyone is a respectable person. He's got a brand to manage and speed only gets you so far.

I wish he was just ignored for a while, maybe that would change all the drama BS.  Absent that I do have a deegan filter turned on 90% of the time.

In a MX world full of automatons that essentially read a script, being a Deegan is ok too.

Out work your competition, Block out all negativity, Don’t get too friendly with fellow competitors, Stay focused on race day, Leave nothing on the table at the end of the night. This kid has put on a clinic the last 4 weeks. He’s a Team owners Dream! Mitch would love to have Danger Boy !

You're not wrong about the negativity bit, but This is the lance Armstrong model (who paradoxically cf macadoo was also raised poor and by a single mother). You're always right and everyone is your enemy until they submit to you. It worked out exceedingly well for him until it didn't. If he woulda compromised and given floyd landis a ride, floyd wouldn't have turned on him.

Worked for Ricky too, but he doesn't have alot of fans/friends these days. How long did it take him to makeup with Matthes? Oh yea when he had something he needed to promote...

Being a narcissistic sociopath is a bit like being king midas. Or a rich leper.

You’re comparison to Armstrong is ridiculous. For one thing Floyd blew everything up after Lance was retired and he got caught juicing himself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending Armstrong, but to compare him to Deegan is crazy.

I "compared" RC too, but your reading comprehension seems to be lacking; had floyd been given a ride he wouldn't have talked. That was his position. But for Lance being a spiteful prick, floyd would have stayed loyal. Period. Chronology doesn't change that.

The character traits can be the same while the degree of severity and/or outcome can differ. Lack of remorse, gravitation toward negative motivation (need to create and stoke feuds), projection of personal flaws and so on.

There's a bajillion books written about this stuff...it's not rocket surgery.

Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, I thought it was funny, and I’m glad the broadcast is finally giving these LCQ winners their due.

I"ve been close friends with Aiden's Uncle (who is also his mechanic) for a long time. They put in a LOT of work and are on a shoestring budget to make it to each round (racing last years bikes as well). They are extremely thankful for every penny of support they get

It doesn’t matter what floyd did or didn’t do , It was all coming out anyway because they went back a retested with new tec that showed him and the entire team were dirty.

No, there's a four year difference in their ages, so Chase would have been around 10 - 11 when this photo was shot.

I was talking about the difference between the programs of Webb vs other guys. Never said he wasn't elite. He beat AC on a 150 by riding after school on Wednesdays and maybe race a local race if there was one on the weekend.

Let's be real. Most of the amateur kids are going to be fine in life with or without moto. The parents are going to make sure lil Johnny has a leveling kit on his Z71 so he can pull chicks. Webb didn't have that luxury.

I just clicked on a Behind the Scenes at Glendale Supercross video expecting to see some sick angles of Kitchen and Mcadoo destroying that track but instead it was Deegan talking saying Kitchen looked homeless. I’m at my limit. Mcadoo looks so much cooler on a dirtbike

You know, MacAdoo is one of my favorite riders, but when reading this thread title I couldn't help but imagine:

In a world full of  Deegan 4

Be a Macadoo
