I disagree. I think he needed this year in the 250 class. His SX results have been pretty shaky up until now so putting together a dominant season on the way out is a no brainer to me. Championships are hard to come by, he better take as many as he can before he’s in the 450 class because he may never get one again.
Why is he going to stay on a 250 for the next 10yrs? He wont be racing Macadoo, Antsie, and headcase Kitchen next year.
He looked great last night and I'm hyper critical of him indoors. Outdoors, I think he's a threat immediately. Be nice if we could see a real set of sx whoops this year to see how he hits them. When Webb can skim the whoops they're a joke. I dont know if I've ever been so stumped on how I think a 250 rider if going to be on a 450 more than Haiden. He's making the improvements and looks really impressive this year.
A reminder that it is possible to accept Deegans speed and race craft and dislike his personality.
He put on a clinic last night. It's clear no other rider had anything for him, be it fitness, consistency, or flat out speed.

Well Deegan slowed down to wave at the guy you said went 1-1-1 in a more dominating fashion, so I think your calculator is broken.

Kitchen was looking good for the first time in 2 years. He’s probably happy with last nights riding as he should be.
Ok that’s great but what has been Levi’s results since then 💁♂️
Both can be true.
Also at this point Deegan is making mountains out of molehills. He’s clearly the best 250 rider and after last night he needs to just be concerned with himself and not think about the other riders.
This.^^^
HD was amazing last night, his aggression, speed and control were by far the best in his class. Great ride, no question.
It’d probably be better racing to watch if HD didn’t take out his closest competitor in the second race of the season. HD would still have won by a mile tho..
During the incredibly competitive 450 main last night I saw at least a dozen passes that could have been a takedown, but the riders had enough character and respect for each other that they raced side by side instead of punting their rivals. That’s what makes a great race, and Deegan is way too selfish and insecure to simply race side by side without the takeout BS (Shimoda..).
I don't think so. He still had "issues" to fix #1 being starts, which are better. It wont get easier to get starts in 450's. #2 was his whoops, which look much better this year.
I think we seem him on a 450 in SX this year as his lead grows. Its already at 19 points.
You know he just turned 20 right? The wins and potential championship bonus could be around a mil, all in.
Witnessing Deegan from the stands last night, his corner speed was vastly superior to anyone. Dude was on the gas before the apex of the corners while everyone else was rolling through. I’m not much of a Deegan fan but that was extremely impressive and fun to see.
Definitely put on clinic last nite…..should be interesting to see where he stacks up in 450 class…plenty of riders dominated on 250”s that struggle in the 450 class…but anybody’s guess…I want to like him, being an American but would like to see some genuine humility and respect for other racers…the tough guy metal militia grift isn’t working for me…maybe go with a Cali surf dude vibe…flame away
Yes. I’m aware.
Who said anything about him being on a 250?
Will Deegs do any 450 SX on the east coast rounds. That will be fun to watch!!
Genuine question: what 250 guy that has been a top 5 threat since his rookie season, and was always "the guy," struggled in the 450's? Only one that comes to mind is AC, but injuries could be blamed for his lack of success. I'm sure I'm missing some.
Pit Row
barcia. savatgy. jesse nelson. the list is long, actually.
Barcia, yes. Savatgy has I think 5 250 class wins. Nelson never raced a 450.
Let's see he has taken out Kitchen, McAdoo and Anstie just on the west coast. Kitchen had every chance to clean him out again in the 3rd main and backed off. Deegan is no doubt the fastest guy in the class but clearly these guys are scared to go after him this year.
I agree. He’s nothing to prove in this class.
I’m not even watching the 250 class now.
Not sure if they’re scared or just don’t want to be a tool..
Wilson? Martin? Craig? Pourcell? Alessi?
Alessi never won a 250 supercross, and only has 3 250 race wins. Craig has only 7 wins despite winning a title. J mart also has 7 wins, never raced a 450. A Mart never won a 250 sx.
Pourcel and Wilson, yes.
I'm not talking about the hype of being the guy, I'm asking about actual results. I do think Deegan's career could go either way. He could adapt, and be solid, or he could go the Barcia route. He was riding the 450 like his 250 in WSX, and that won't work.
regardless...we answered your question. It has happened and IMO it's gonna happen again. Deegs gonna get blasted time and again.
3 more wins to tie Jett
You listed people who have less than half the race wins as Deegan, and a guy that never got a chance to prove himself on a 450. You answered, but it was wrong. People said the same thing about Barcia and Anderson when they moved up, and still, no one has "blasted" them.
you literally agreed with several of the referenced names above. You didn't quantify it with "Name people w/ the same # of wins" you said "List people who were constant top 5 threats"....and we did....and you agreed. This isn't hard.
