I'll repeat the sentiment that happens every year. Triple crowns rule, fans like them, riders hate them. Having a few scattered throughout the year is the right choice.
Just go to outdoor format 2 15 minute motos instead of the chaos of 3 races and call it good.
Traditional format absolutely blows so boring waiting all night for the only racing that matters.
Heat races and lcqs are so drawn out by the time the mains come around I’m over it.
I'm not a fan of the triple crown format, but that third heat race was awesome.
Easily the best race of the season.

Honestly the dead space between heats and the mains on a “normal” night are so boring. It’s like an hour of truly nothing I care to see.
Triple crowns are 3 hours of insane racing and action. Agree with OP. Easily better as a viewer.
What do you guys think, should there be championship points per triple crown race though? I like how WSX does it, 10 championship points for the winner of the first two races and then 25 points for the final main.
Tripple crown every 3 rd race and the rest MX format. Boom…
Outdoors pays points per moto and nobody wants that to change so I’d follow the outdoor format
Like I said though, anything besides the traditional format - this is full interest the entire time. The heats lcqs and fillers are so boring and drawn out.

I'm with you. I am good with either way, 2 or 3 " motos", but the heats & LCQs have to go. I don't go to supercrosses anymore because 6 of 8 races not counting for anything is just not worth it.
McAdoo said he loves them ! I’m pretty sure Webb likes them too… but I agree on only having a few scattered in the series.
That would also fix the stupid SMX points where an MX race is worth 2 SX races….and SX is supposed to be the big money series. Makes no sense….and don’t get me started on double and triple points…. I cringe every time someone counts SMX in total number of titles.
One small change I would like for Triple Crowns is to make a race win a 0 score instead of 1. I think wins should get weighted slightly more and would lower the likelihood of a rider getting the overall without a race win.
Should at least make it so heat races also pay some championship points otherwise imo

I don’t know, I could take or leave triple crowns. Just like the normal format; it’s hit and miss.
Tonight was great, but all the 450 mains have been awesome so far this season.
The fact that everyone goes back and forth on this argument probably means everything is fine as is. There have been some seriously BORING triple crowns. Tonight, the 450s were good.

I don't like that idea because it's fairly common to have lopsided heat races, as in you could have one with 2 factory guys and another with 6
I would still rather see 6 races with everyone racing for something that means something, than 4 races with half the riders- that mean nothing ,and then 2 races that mean something.
Time for normal SX races to be two 15 min mains
Maybe I'm just salty at Hunter or Kenny not getting the win, but Webb yet again (third time now?) getting the overall without a single win or even being close to the fastest rider in any race is why I hate the triple crown format.
A boring race doesn’t mean the triple crown format is to blame. Every single traditional format is 2.5 hours of gate pick jockeying and commercials. Tell me that’s not boring…
Where as with triple crowns every single minute of racing has all 22 top riders racing for points. Not half the top guys or none of the top guys (lcqs) and then finally when the mains come around you get what you’ve been waiting for, for all of 20 mins….
Traditional is so fucking gay.
Imagine if outdoors went from 4 hours of racing per class to showing 3.5 hours of gate pick jockeying and then 30 mins of actual racing..:

Correct me if I'm wrong but those points are to determine the overall and the O/A winner is awarded 25pts as normal.
Except that at most triple crowns the win is essentially determined before the third race starts. So now you're ending the night on a dud race. Better to start with heats and end with the most important thing than start with the most important thing and end with everybody just riding around. And yes I know Houston was good, but it's the exception that proves the rule. You can't manufacture excitement.
They should run the course backwards for race 3
Why are you trying to explain how olympic scoring works, nobody said anything else?
My suggestion was just INSTEAD of having olympic scoring each race could award a certain amount of championship points. Triple crown means way more actual race time, why only let them race for the usual 25 points? It would also prevent riders from settling in certain positions in race 3.
